💔 Daniel is leaving Voluta Tattoo 💔

Daniel arrived at Voluta Tattoo to be tattooed by Conan Lea seven years ago. He was searching for a way to capitalize his floral art and Conan offered to teach him to tattoo. Conan took on Daniel as an apprentice and the rest is history.

Daniel is known as a perfectionist of his art and has worked hard to study his unique style of painterly tattoo art. As Conan's fifteenth apprentice, he florished as a member of the Voluta Tattoo team.

Does anybody else remember the song, "Butterfly Kisses" by Bob Carlisle? It has absolutely nothing to do with this tattoo, just wondering if you cried to it as well.

A delicate and pretty butterfly of our own creation on the forearm. We had multiple components from different reference photos to include in their design to create this piece. It was fun and I’m very happy with the result!

So thrilled to have this cover up finished for Patty! Patty had some forever old tattoos she wanted gone, and wanted a sea turtle which represents freedom to her. I had originally drawn up a more realistic concept, but Patty decided she wanted something a little more playful and less realistic…. Super fun working on this color pop piece and looking very forward to working with Patty on our next project!

Did you know 👀👀 Indiana's flower is the peony which was adopted by the state in 1957, but it was not the first state flower. Others have included the tulip tree blossom and the carnation. The carnation was changed because it is not native to Indiana. Dogwood blossoms were also considered. What do you think Indiana's flower should be?

Thanks to Aaron for choosing me to adapt the strange and fantastic story, A Wrinkle in Time, by Madeleine L'Engle, into his first tattoo. The characters are little people with faces you could hide under a fingerprint. We intended a sense of ominous darkness and stick-togetherness. One more session to texture a bit and to add more comic maker marks here and there. Happy birthday, Aaron!

Having tons fun creating this piece with this super laid back, lovely client, Rachel :)

So much great conversation with her, when she’s not dozing off while we work! Looking very forward to filling in the rest of our golds, and popping her reds in the fall…. And then moving across the top of her back with the rest of our design!

I met Rachel when I contacted her to buy an art filing cabinet/coffee table she had refinished, and we got to talking about art and tattoos! This is her first tattoo, and I’m so glad she loves it 💖
