Great event hosted by the Indianola Community School District. The Sheriff's Office was represented by Lt. Burrows, Sgt. Stageman, Deputy Payberg and Deputy Meador. Rumor has it they held their own as the "old man" group and wore their plate carriers! Fantastic job! We thank and honor all those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom!🇺🇸

Indianola Middle School recently hosted a remarkable Murph Challenge event in honor of Memorial Day, named after the fallen US Navy SEAL Michael Murphy. This competition, conceptualized and organized by teachers and veterans Greg Rodrigue and Danny Reetz, saw more than 150 middle school student participants. The event had a special guest appearance of competitors from the Indianola Police and Sheriff's offices.

A support network of more than 30 volunteers ensured the smooth running of the event. Among the notable contributors were ValorFit, CrossFit Undone of Indianola, and CrossFit 50211 of Norwalk. These organizations provided essential help.

The Murph Challenge at Indianola Middle School was more than just a test of physical endurance; it was a heartfelt tribute to those who have served and sacrificed. The event not only honored Memorial Day, but also brought together a diverse group of participants and supporters, united in their respect and remembrance of Michael Murphy and all fallen soldiers.

The Sheriff's Office has received reports of a scam. A scammer calling from 515-884-5322 (may show up with a different number or even a cloned real Sheriff's Office number as well) is posing as Lt. Burrows. The scammer is attempting to extort money from victims to take care of alleged warrants. No one from the Sheriff's Office or any other law enforcement office will call you to take care of warrants over the phone.

Each year the Warren County Sheriff's Office, in conjunction with the Warren County Attorney's Office, host a Shop with the Sheriff event for local families. One of the big expenses for this event is purchasing the needed supplies to wrap the gifts. This year we are reaching out to the public for donations! If we can offset some of these costs, it will allow more funds for the purchase of gifts. The following items are needed:

Gift bags
Wrapping paper
Bows/Ribbon
Tissue paper
Tape

If you would like to donate any of these items they can be dropped off at the Sheriff's Office or County Attorney's Office in the Justice Center (115 N Howard St, Indianola, IA) during business hours. Please have any donations delivered by December 13th, 2023 at 4p.
