SIDEWALLS MATTER!! 😩

✨When the sidewalls are filed incorrectly, the acrylic is no longer balanced and the natural nail ends up damaged.

✨When you’re shaping. Using the free edge as your guide can help keep you from filing into the sidewalls.

✨There are different tools and techniques (like pinching your tips) that can help make your clients nails appear more narrow.

I usually never say anything but I know my face does 😅😅😅

Always make sure you’re using the right sized tips when sizing your clients nails.

If for some reason you don’t have the size needed ALWAYS use a bigger size and cut it to fit the nail.

NEVER use a smaller tip!

This client asked for hard gel and was told that’s what she got.

Unfortunately the tech lied to her and put regular gel on her nails, but charged her for hard gel! Which is double the price of regular gel.

I’ve noticed this happens a lot in American Salons. So here’s some helpful tips.

! CLIENTS ¡

•If it doesn’t come out of a jar that has a thicker gel inside its not hard gel.

•If they use powder, its NOT hard gel.

•If it isn’t labeled BUILDER it’s not hard gel.

! TECHS ¡

If you haven’t mastered the skill of applying hard gel BUILDER IN A BOTTLE is a great alternative. You get the look and feel of hard gel and it can be filed, shaped, and SOAKED OFF.

If you don’t know how to do certain techniques then say that. Don’t lie to your clients for your bottom dollar.

Moving from the south to west coast has been a BIG culture shock. It’s also been a bit of a challenge trying to find a balance between being a single mom, building a business and learning a new city.
