Thursday's Clinical Hiring Event spotlight is Certified Medical Assistant (CMA).👩⚕️💉
CMAs play an important role in clinic operations. These positions offer both clinical duties and patient care and interaction, adding variety to each day! No certification is required to be hired but AAMA, NCMA or RMA certification as a Medical Assistant must be obtained within six months of hire date.

Our Surgical Technologist's are responsible for assisting with surgical procedures in an operating room. The responsibilities can range from monitoring the patient’s vital signs, gathering surgical tools and assisting the health care staff with the procedure (Certification as a Surgical Technologist is required).

Plans therapeutic diets as prescribed by physicians and in accordance with regulatory agencies. Completes screenings, nutritional assessments, and nutrition education with patients/clients. Functions as member of multidisciplinary team. Participates in inpatient, outpatient, and community health programs.
Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree with a major in Food and Nutrition, Dietetics or related field - Required
1 year minimum experience as a Dietitian - Preferred
Certification as a Registered Dietitian by the American Dietetic Association - Required
Licensure by the State of Iowa - Required
Certification by the National Certification Board for Diabetes Educators, if working in the Diabetic Education Program - Preferred
Greet all patients in a professional and cordial manner whether in person or on the phone. Answer phones promptly and determine patient needs. Assist patients by answering questions, updating demographic information, scheduling appointments, collecting payments, and directing them to the appropriate person for their need. Screen calls and take messages for other clinic staff and record daily entries for patient activity in the medical record.
Qualifications:
High school diploma required with additional training in a medical secretary preferred.
Ability to deal with public in a professional and cordial manner at all times.
Understanding of medical terminology.
Experience with computers required.
Experience as a receptionist preferred.
Current Basic Life Support validation or successfully complete BLS course within 3 months of date of hire - Required.

Short Term Option:
Must have a minimum of one (1) year of experience in the assignment area. The initial assignment is for 13 weeks which can be extended based on the needs of the department and approval from the CNO. The bi-weekly available work hour requirement is 72 hours per pay period in 12 hour shifts or as determined by the department nursing leader.
· 13 week assignment
· Hourly rate is $110 for day shift and $115 for night shift. Hourly rate is a flat rate, no differential.
· Not eligible for bonus incentives or benefits of any type.

Acts as a resource to leaders, clinical colleagues and providers within the Mercy clinic system to ensure a structured onboarding training, development, education and competency program for clinical staff to ensure the delivery of safe, effective, high quality, patient-centered clinical care. Leads the development of a Medical Assistant program to ensure a pipeline of future, competent, provider and patient centered clinic support colleagues. Investigates, understands and incorporates payer plans and quality incentives into daily clinical workflow. Educates providers, clinic colleagues and leaders on payer documentation requirements for quality measures. Oversees the Annual Wellness Visit program. Ensures workflows are built in EHR (promoting interoperability and quality measures). Analyzes data and makes recommendations, develops action plans to support continuous clinical process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited school of Nursing (RN or LPN) is required.
Bachelors degree in related field required, Masters preferred.
Must possess current RN or LPN licensure in the State of Iowa or compact state required.
Current Basic Life Support validation or successfully complete BLS course within 3 months of hire date.
Experience as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse in a Clinic setting for minimum of 2 years required.
Exceptional analytical skills due to gathering and evaluating data. Strong decision-making skills are essential to develop meaningful action plans that address specific problems or help to reach improvement goals.
Demonstrated ability to communicate with people and demonstrated expertise in education and leadership.
In collaboration with the Bariatric Physicians, the Bariatric Program Coordinator, and the Bariatric Dietician, will plan, deliver, coordinate and track patients progress through the bariatric program. Function as a part of the clinical team, promoting and assuring patient centered care. Communicates closely with the patients as you navigate their progress through the Bariatric program.
Qualifications:
Graduate from an accredited nursing program is required.
Must possess current RN licensure in the State of Iowa or compact state.
Current BLS validation or successfully complete BLS course with in 3 months of date of hire
Minimum of 3 years experience in a clinical setting with an understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology, and the ability to record information accurately and legibly.
Previous experience working in a Bariatric Clinic preferred but not required.

Education:
Baccalaureate degree in Nursing or equivalent required.
