With the expected snow storm on Thursday, we will be closing our office on December 22nd due to the safety of our patients and staff.
Our office will also be closed the following week for the holidays. We will reopen January 2nd 2023.

Another update from our office:
The ADA and IDA are recommending dental offices close for three weeks so we will be closed until April 6th. Our staff will still be answering phones and will also be making many, many calls to reschedule the numerous patients we had on our schedule. Please be patient with us, we are learning and taking this one day at a time as new information and recommendations are given to us.

Corona Virus (COVID-19) Update

As has always been the case, the health and safety of our patients, team members, and families is our top priority at Iowa City Orthodontics. Our society is in a tough time, and we want everyone to be aware of how we are changing our office policies to adapt to these times.
We will continue to follow our normal universal precautions to prevent the spread of all infectious diseases, but we have added additional measures in step with the published measures put out by the CDC.
First, we ask that you please call to reschedule any appointment if you OR ANY FAMILY MEMBER has recently experienced or is currently showing any of the following:
​-Fever (low or high grade)
​-Any flu like symptoms in the past 2 weeks
​-Traveled outside of the country in the past 30 days

Please know that any of our staff, including Dr. Hall and Dr. Ray, will also follow these same guidelines to protect the health of our patients and fellow staff.

Second, we are limiting the type of appointment for which we will see current patients in our offices. The patients that will continue to be seen during this time include those that are in active treatment with braces, Invisalign aligners, or other active appliances as well as those that have lost or are having significant trouble with their retainers. We ask that those patients that are not currently in active treatment, those that have not yet started treatment, and those that are not having any retainer problems please postpone your future appointments until we are able to call to reschedule appointments after this time of mitigation.

We may also extend that amount of time between a patient’s individual appointments. The significant reduction in appointments will help us keep our office well sanitized and allow for proper social distancing. Also, it will allow us to conserve our hard-to-source supplies including masks, gloves, and hand sanitizers and soaps.

Third, we will attempt to limit the number of people entering our office. We ask that any non-essential family member or guardian, other than the patient, stay in their car whenever possible. Of course, we will allow a guardian to accompany a child for their appointment if they are uncomfortable coming in alone or the guardian has any specific questions that need to be answered. Our goal is to eliminate people spending any time in the waiting room area. You can even call our office from the car when you arrive at the office, and we will let you know when the patient is ready to be seated to eliminate any wait time in the office.

Fourth, all high contact surfaces will be wiped down and disinfected, at a minimum, on an hourly basis.

To protect your family and ours, we will continue to closely monitor the COVID-19 situation and follow local, state, and federal guidelines. Please know we are doing every prudent thing we can to serve our patients, staff, and doctors as well as possible during this difficult time. Please call our office if you have any questions.
