Twice a month, we are very lucky to have a neuro-resource facilitator from Brain Injury Alliance of Iowa onsite to help survivors and family members get connected to whatever resources they may need. This occurs on the first and third Fridays of each month. This is an incredibly unique opportunity to have access to in the QC! Take advantage!

On July 29, 1996, President Bill Clinton signed the Traumatic Brain Injury Act into law, a pivotal moment for TBI prevention, research, and service delivery. This act began a comprehensive approach to TBI, with key federal agencies involved, such as the CDC, NIH, and ACL. Over the years, the legislation has evolved, with amendments and reauthorizations enhancing its scope and impact.

From defining TBI to expanding advocacy services, these initiatives have made significant strides in supporting individuals affected by TBI.

The Brain Injury Alliance of Iowa's mission of the Brain Injury Alliance of Iowa is to create a better future through brain injury prevention, advocacy, education, research, and support. BIAIA works to support individuals who experience brain injury, their families, friends and the professionals who support them in Iowa.

Our primary service line includes Neuro Resource Facilitation, a fee-free service offered by the Brain Injury Alliance of Iowa to help people with brain injury and their families, caregivers, and community navigate medical and general life challenges after a brain injury.

We offer support in coping with the issues of living with brain injury and transitioning back to work and the community, and we help connect individuals and families with the services and supports they may need. This page is designed to provide a space in social media for people to receive and share information about brain injury, including services, educational and training or other events hosted or approved by the Brain Injury Alliance of Iowa.
