With the help of our customized remote witness setup, we were able to ensure clear and uninterrupted testimony, overcoming even the challenges of testimony from a hospital bed!

As Attention Spans Drop There is Even More Need for Crisp and Concise Writing In my work consulting on appellate briefs and arguments, one of the recommendations I almost always make is the “KISS” acronym - keep things concise and not go on and on. This has always been necessary, in trial memorandum and arguments as well as on appeals.

Our team had another opportunity to support a client in a JAMS arbitration this week in sunny southern california. While most JAMS locations have excellent equipment available, it's always a good idea to ensure they have exactly what you need to present your case effectively!

When it comes to trial presentation, having the right equipment is crucial. While projectors work great in some situations, an 85" HDTV can sometimes do what a projector cannot. That's why our team always conducts a thorough courtroom inspection prior to trial and seeks feedback from court staff, so we bring the right equipment every time. Speaking of having the right tools, we're always grateful when the court allows us to bring our favorite beverage in with us - it's an part of keeping us sharp and focused during those long trial days!

Tuesday Trial Tip: Preparing to go to trial? Here’s some of best practices our team has found to best set you up for success!

▪️ 5 Weeks Before Trial: Retain your preferred trial support company [TrialSupport, LLC comes highly recommended 😊]; your selected vendor should confirm existing equipment available in the courtroom and provide an equipment recommendation based on your case specific needs

▪️ 4 Weeks Before Trial: Confer with opposing counsel regarding possibility of sharing equipment costs and related logistics

▪️ 3 Weeks Before Trial: Meet with your support vendor regarding graphics needs, share trial data, provide designations for video clips

▪️ 2 Weeks Before Trial: Vendor should provide reports; status update on all trial data to ensure completeness

▪️ 1 Week Before Trial: finalize and run through opening PPT slides, identify for your vendor any remote witnesses so they can be contacted, and any technology needs addressed prior to trial.
