Emotional Dad post: for the past decade I have watched both my kids on stage maturing, evolving, and finding their own personal moments of joy on stage. This weekend, Daniel has been in NYC with Mom, and I have been sitting solo in the audience, watching Camron perform. I have never been more proud than to see their enthusiasm and complete commitment on stage. Today I celebrate what they bring to the stage - not the performing or artistry - but the tenacity and work ethic it takes to be an outstanding performer. One that lights up the stage not just when they are front and center, but also in ensemble roles as a cog in a machine that brings a full production of entertainment to the audience. To see Cam GET that; what she learned watching her brother respect the full production, listening to all her teachers and directors, and occasionally, even adhering to the advice of mom and dad - that’s what it’s all about. Sure, she has improved tremendously as a performer and has learned to sing, dance, and act, but my proudest moments are seeing her mature as a person who has learned to respect the process and become one of the brightest beacons of light on stage each time she performs.
