Helloooo!! It’s almost the end of the year and summer time ☀️⛱️ so stay rested and hydrated for finals! It’s time for our recap for weeks 6-8!
Week 6 we had a general meeting going over the housing crisis and how third party organizations like Airbnb contribute to it. We also had a social event that weekend and thank you to everyone who showed up!
Week 7 we had a volunteering event at Fairview park where we removed invasive mustard plants and worked to allow native species an area to grow!
Lastly, Week 8 we had our last meeting of the year 🥲 where we made yearbooks for each other to say our goodbyes and see you laters until next year!! We still have one more social event upcoming but thank you all for a wonderful year!! 💚💙💚💙
Hi Anteaters!! Hope you all have been spending your springtime well and getting ready for summer 🌸☀️ It’s time for a double recap for weeks 4 and 5!! Our volunteer event was at the Shade tree nursery where we helped plant different native species and ensure they grow in a safe, rich environment 🪴🪻
Then, during our general meetings we had an informational meeting on homelessness and the stigmas, insecurities those who experience homelessness feel when applying for jobs or trying to improve their situation. As for week 5, we had a social meeting where we played spyfall among other collaborative games. Thank you everyone for coming during those busy weeks and hope to see you again soon!! 🫶🫶
Happy Monday Anteaters! Hope everyone is well rested and hydrated to check out our week 3 recap 🤠 This weekend we had a collaboration event with the American Fishery Society () and the Food Recovery Network () where we had a beach cleanup!! ☀️🏖️ After we had pizza and relaxed by the beach so thank you everyone who stopped by!!
During our social meeting we played CodeNames along with other games to destress before midterms 👾🕵️ Thank you again for everyone who came to the event and meetings and stay tuned for our future events!!
Hello Habiteers! Hope spring quarter has been going well so far and you are all staying healthy while preparing for the first wave of midterms. It’s time for our week 2 recap where we went on a nature hike! ✨🌸🌲After getting our steps in we went back to UTC for lunch.
During the general meeting we had a presentation on deinstituaionalization and its benefits and drawbacks along with more recent legislation that has been aiming to tackle related issues. Since it’s an election year make sure to vote if eligible and thank you for a great week! 🫡💚💙
Hello everyone hope the quarter has started off well!! We are back to recap week 1 where we started with a social meeting explaining what Habitat for Humanity does and played some fun tournament-style games to get to know each other! 🏆
As for our volunteer event we mention zoom and played Zooniverse, helping online ecological studies that covered topics such as elephant conservationism and species identification 🐘🐿️ Thank you to everyone who stopped by and stay tuned for what we have next week!! 🫶

Week 8 we had our beach cleanup event along with a guest speaker during our meeting to talk more about environmental conservation and its effects. Week 9 we had a potluck social where we ate (too much) food and played frisbee and uno! 🍕🍰 We also had a Cha fundraiser at UTC where everyone got a much needed boba break 😌
Thank you to everyone who came to the fundraiser, meetings, and events these last two weeks and throughout the quarter! We hope you all ace your finals and have a wonderful spring break, we will be back Week 1 of spring quarter and hope to see you there!! 💚💙💚💙

We went to a board game cafe for our social event where we had some friendly competition with games like Apples to Apples and Spyfall! 🍎🕵️ During our general meeting we made friendship bracelets and showed off our amazing creativity!! Thank you all for coming and see everyone next week!!! ☀️🤩
Hello Anteaters it’s time for our combined weeks 5 and 6 recap!! Week 5 we took a break from events and stayed indoors and online because of the rain, having a zoom meeting where we guessed popular songs from their first few seconds.
Then, week 6 we volunteered at Fairview Park where we removed invasive weeds to ensure the native plants grow in our community! During our general meeting, our intern presented the relationship between sustainability and homelessness along with playing the game of life at the end. During our meeting last week we talked about the dangers of greenwashing and how we can better help support real sustainable businesses and not fall for the fake ones. We have no events this week but stay tuned for what we have planned Week 6 and have a lovely rest of your week!!!
Hello everyone! Our week 3 was very eventful with our first Habitat ReStore of the quarter taking place, where we helped construct and sell secondhand household items such as cabinets and chairs to customers! We also were boothing for the UCI Community Service and Leadership Fair and thank you to everyone that stopped by 💚💙
During our general meeting, we tried to guess each others category of choice by playing The Tower, and then finished off the day playing an intense high stakes game of UNO (+2s CAN stack). Thank you to everyone who showed out this week and good luck to anyone having midterms 🫡🤞
