Project Tomorrow CEO, Dr. Julie Evans, is thrilled to be hosting a workshop around the topic of computational thinking in the classroom at the Conference in Hawaii!

Different than coding or computer science, computational thinking (CT) skill development in young learners is about building capacity for problem-solving. This workshop will introduce elementary teachers to proven strategies and tips for seamlessly integrating key computational thinking components (pattern recognition, decomposition, abstraction, algorithm design) across their curriculum including in ELA, Math, Science and Social Studies.

With an emphasis on understanding the connections between CT concepts and everyday curriculum, participants will use a Project Tomorrow tool to evaluate their own readiness for CT integration, work with unplugged learning activities introducing CT to young learners, and collaboratively design a new CT integrated digital learning activity in a core curricular area. Computational thinking in your classroom – yes, you can!
