Texas (USA), The Dallas Everest Lions Club (DELC), a pioneer club in District 2-X1, has been awarded Club of the Year for 2022-2023. Out of around 62 Lions Clubs in the district, Dallas Everest Lions Club has been awarded the Outstanding Lions Club Award in 2016/17 and 2020/21. In the two-day district convention on April 14 and 15, Ken Ibarra, the International Director of Lions Club International, presented the award to Dr. Vishnu Maya Upadhyay, President of the club, on April 15, 2023, at the Hilton Richardson, TX. In recognition of the community activities that the Dallas Everest Lions Club performed in the years 2022 and 2023, the club was named Club of the Year. Likewise, Dallas Trinity Industrial Lions Club President Manuel Palavicini received the Lions of the Year 2022-2023 award. After Upadhyay's leadership, the DELC was honored at a program on Capitol Hill last March in Austin, the capital of Texas. In the same vein, the City of Irving recognized Nepali New Year honoring the Dallas Everest Lions Club. During a event held at City Hall on April 11, Mayor Rick Stoffer presented a letter recognizing Nepali New Year. Similarly, the President's Award was also presented to DELC at a special event organized by the Balch Spring Chamber of Commerce on Friday. A more significant aspect is that Lions Club has a tradition of not having an election for new leadership. Because of this, this organization is regarded as very respectable since posts are not
