🐾Memphis: 6 mo. old f Australian Cattle Dog. Fully vetted with age appropriate vaccines. Length of stay 30 days.
🐾 Memphis is an extremely playful pup, but she loves cuddles too! Her favorite game is tug of war. She’s a little big to be a lap dog, but she tries her best to curl up in your lap anyways! She does well with other dogs if introduced slowly- we can always set up a playdate with any current pets!
Available for adoption now at DFW Humane Society. $100 adoption fee includes vaccines, spay neuter and microchipping. Email [email protected] with any inquiries or questions. Call our shelter at 972-721-7788 for adoption, foster, and volunteer opportunities.

Here's a little feel-good moment for you: an update on Marilyn Monroe! 😍Marilyn was a long-term resident with us a while back who found her forever home after 775 days with us at DFWHS. Here is how her new family says she is settling in:
" To our surprise she warmed up very quickly to us! She loves getting pets and cuddles and gets so excited sometimes that she will fall off the bed or the couch. She is a really great and goofy girl, and we love her so much. She does still like to sit in the window from time to time, but she much prefers to sit either on our couch wrapped in her favorite blanket or on our laps. She also loves chasing the toy mice, although she is getting a little too good at annihilating them. She gets along alright with our other cat Holly that we adopted from you all as well. It has been a much slower road with them. Holly is often too eager to try and cuddle up to Marilyn and play with her, and Marilyn just isn't ready yet. Thankfully Holly has been learning to give Marilyn some space, and as a result Marilyn has been more receptive to her. Overall, I just wanted to let you all know that she is doing really well."
Thank you so much to her adopters for giving this sweet shy girl a loving home. Marilyn was able to receive her second chance at life through the contributions of supporters like YOU! If you're interested in supporting DFWHS for North Texas Giving Day, visit NorthTexasGivingDay.org/DFWHumane

We often get requests for declawed cats, but did you know declawing is actually harmful? 🐱
It’s not just a nail trim; it’s a painful procedure that removes part of their toes, impacting their balance and behavior. Cats rely on their claws for climbing, stretching, and self-defense. Instead of declawing, consider alternatives like regular nail trimming, scratching posts, or soft nail caps.
Everyone, meet Thor! Donations from supporters like you helped pay for the $316 surgery to fix his abdominal hernia. Now we can find this sweet boy’s match and he can go to his new family happy and healthy!
We are just over halfway to our goal- please share to help us get to our next benchmark of 75% ❤️

About Our Shelter
Founded in 1967 by four Irving residents who saw a need to care for stray and abandoned pets, DFW Humane Society has remained committed to rescuing neglected and unwanted pets and giving them a second chance in life through adoption.
Each year with contributions from compassionate and concerned donors, DFW Humane Society rescues and finds homes for almost 1000 pets. While at our shelter, our pets receive top-quality daily care and food, medical attention, when necessary, at local veterinary clinics, and love, interaction, and enrichment from both shelter staff and a host of dedicated volunteers.
With help from donors, we are also fortunate to have the Guardian Angel Fund, a restricted fund used to pay for extraordinary medical expenses such as heartworm treatments, broken limbs, and other higher-cost medical procedures.
