NF Fact: There is no cure for NF....yet

Meet Jayden, this week's NF Hero! Jayden's Mom shared his story:

“Jayden is very creative, loves to build things out of legos and his favorite subject is STEM. Due to NF Jayden has ADHD, struggles a lot in school, and has some behavioral issues. He also has several neurofibromas on his trunk area and has weak muscle tone. NF awareness is important because we need to make people aware that this condition exists and how they can help find a cure to End NF. “

NF Fact: Because of NF’s close connection to many common diseases and disorders, NF research stands to benefit 75 million Americans in this generation alone.

NF Fact: Symptoms of NF2-SWN include hearing loss, tinnitus, balance problems, facial weakness, seizures, vision impairment, and other problems due to tumors in the central nervous system.

NF Fact: NF2- SWN is characterized by the development of benign tumors called vestibular schwannomas which affect hearing and balance.
