Vetting partners and talent is challenging. It represents a significant, ongoing commitment to ensure we're recruiting the right people for our team, especially when large client projects are at stake. As a small content studio that "scales up" based on the production size, we don't typically have everyone on staff full-time. So every time we dive into pre-production, we're filling various roles—ranging from producers, to gaffers, to food stylists, to acting talent, and to the editors & VFX specialists who bring the piece to life in post-production.
While we possess a deep roster of trusted individuals, time inevitably brings change. People move, people move on, or sometimes aren't the right fit for a specific job. We have a number of ways to interview, tests to perform, and instincts we apply. However, as the saying goes, "You have to kiss a lot of frogs…" and a significant portion of our year is dedicated to taking chances on people that don't always work out.
The upside is, when we strike gold, we have a collaborator for life—a treasured person that we get to consider a friend, and introduce to our greater network of eager studios and producers, who are out "hunting for white whales," as we like to say.
When our fam makes a terrific product, we love to help them share it with the world. Hands down, the best olive oil you can find. Give it, use it, live better 🧿
There's a theme here. It's not gadgets, booze or political reform. It's the receptiveness to working with a nimble, creative company, to make remarkable content. While our clients come from a diverse mix of sectors, each one of them needs us to show up like a special ops unit-- to help them produce cutting edge ads & imaginative solutions.

We designed this studio thoughtfully around the work we do: commercials, product work, food shoots, photography and interviews. Just 30min north of Manhattan, and steps from the Irvington Metro North train station, this flexible 4,000 SF space is a turnkey production facility featuring:
-Fully functional shooting kitchen with window
-Flexible living room/home interior set with two windows
-Tabletop area for product video and photography
-Wireless DMX lighting grid and 12ft ceilings
-Full list of high-end camera, lighting and grip gear
-Extensive prop, surfaces and art inventory

The Trent Building, which Recreation Films now calls home, is a 128 year old, neoclassical building on the eastern bank of the Hudson River-- just north of Manhattan in Irvington, NY.
In addition to the gorgeous facade & views, the building has a rich creative history, starting from its origin as the headquarters for Cosmopolitan Magazine. And we're honored to be continuing that creative lineage now!

Good old Rip Van Winkle just woke up on Main Street, a short walk from our studio in Irvington, NY.
This timeless character was created by the iconic author Washington Irving, and the bronze statue is a favorite climbing spot for the local kiddos who attend school on the hill above the sculpture. This dude is the original beardo.

Earlier this year we teamed up with Dos Hombres mezcal to help tell their story with this short brand film.
4 days in Mexico, shooting with the insanely talented and collaborative Aaron Paul & Bryan Cranston, doing the kind of run & gun doc filmmaking that first got us into this business was a pure joy. And seeing how deeply the guys and everyone at the brand care, not only about the end product, but the amazing people of San Luis Del Rio who make it, gave us all the inspiration we needed and more.

The town of Irvington, where you will find our studio, was named after Washington Irving— author of “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.”
He resided at the Sunnyside estate— 5 minutes from our studio & available for tours. Come visit us & then soak it up, history buffs.

After years of marketing many of the worlds top spirits brands our good friends and long time collaborators teamed up with the gang from It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia to launch their very own whiskey. We of course said yes when they asked us to produce their launch content, including a ton of photography and motion, both in studio and on location. So proud of these guys and honored to be part of the journey.
