Art on the Rocks is THIS WEEKEND! I'm going to set up today at booth 29. This year there's a slightly new layout, and some of us have moved. Come down to Lower Harbor starting at 10am Saturday and Sunday. Check us out!

Sometimes being an artist means that you entitle a painting, then you forget the title, so you give it another name, but then you remember the original name, and now you can't decide which one you like better.

This was my Friday 'Dusk to Dark' painting for the Fresh Coast Plein Air Festival, Marquette, MI. It was gloomy and damp, and you can feel it in this gray piece!

24" wide by 36" tall

She's not *in* the lake. She *is* the lake.

Her right hand is showing the American Sign Language "L". Her left hand is in an "S".

The sky is violent and dark, swirling around the lighthouse in a spiraled tempest.

The lighthouse is slightly distorted, the front leaning into the wind. This was intentional to portray the tension of a big storm.

This is like a fairy tale of the Lake Superior region.

On Friday, June 7th, we went to Mackinac Island for the Lilac Festival, and the poster contest exhibit reception. I took the opportunity to meet and visit with Jennifer, owner of the Pointe of View Art Gallery. She's really nice!

While I was at the gallery, a couple bought my "Waiting" painting! I was right there when it happened! I was able to meet the buyers. That was pretty cool!

I was able to meet a couple of artists that I admire, and generally spend more time at the reception.
