Don't forget to stop by with any questions you have!! We'll be performing a song, talking about who we are and what we do, and answering questions!

AND stay tuned for the audition sign up link, which will be sent out TODAY! Auditionees will be signing up for a time slot and filling out a short questionnaire so we can learn more about you :)

🎓 Our last Senior Spotlight features Andrew Kraft! Andrew was a bass in InterVals for 3 years, and he graduated with a B.S. in Computer Science.

This summer, Andrew started a new job at Arista Networks as a software engineer. He plans to keep working, and maybe visit Santa Barbara in the fall 👀

Andrew's favorite InterVals memory was his last retreat, where he got to hang out with the members and get to know the newbies!

Andrew's message for auditionees is to sing as much as you can (in the car, in the shower, really anywhere), because any practice you get helps you improve!

🎓 Our fourth senior spotlight features Nick Houchin! Nick was a tenor in InterVals for 3 years, and he graduated with a B.A. in Theater and Community!

This summer, Nick started a new job working in a restaurant, and in the near future, he's hoping to act onstage.

Nick's favorite InterVals memory is Henry in a pink morph suit dressed as a naked mole rat :)

Nick's advice for auditionees and future members is to be yourself and enjoy performing!!

🎓 And next we have Sarah, one of InterVals' incredible choreographers! Sarah was in InterVals for 2 years, and she graduated with a B.A. in English and a minor in theater!

This summer, Sarah has been relaxing after moving up the central coast as well as prepping for new jobs! They moved in with their amazing partner and their cat and are so happy!

Sarah just started their job in SLO county as a paraeducator working with high school students with disabilities! Right now her plans are to do that for the year and grow her ambassadorship at Passion Planner to a planning career as well! 💕

Sarah's favorite InterVals memories are of Wednesday night rehearsals: "Even after the hardest day, I could walk in to rehearsal and feel loved and comfortable and safe. Intervals was truly a family to me and I’ll never forget my amazing mezzo section!"

Sarah's advice for future members:
"Be yourself!!! Intervals is the MOST accepting group and no matter who you are, you will find a place in the group. Everyone loves each other and wants the best for each other, so don’t be afraid to audition for solos, volunteer for leadership, and support others in the group!"

🎓 Next up is our lovely 2021-22 InterVals president, Jane Andersen! Jane was in InterVals for 4 years, and she graduated with a double major in Psychological and Brain Sciences and Language, Culture, and Society!

This summer, Jane has been getting a teaching certificate at the University of Hawaii at Manoa (and pretending she hasn't graduated yet)!

Jane's favorite InterVals memories include: playing Quiplash at Jordan's, every single soprano sectional, pre-concert mania the day of each performance, and cracking open pomegranates gifted by a random stranger at Lake Cachuma after rehearsing for 3 hours in the hot, hot sun.

Jane's advice for future members:
"Don’t be afraid of leadership positions! You will learn so much about group dynamics, gain tons of people skills and practical skills, and gain closer bonds with the members of your group. And be enthusiastic about everything!! A ca****la is inherently hilarious, so you gotta embrace it. (It seems harder to do stupid stuff like this after college - now is the time!!!)"

🎓 We're kicking off our Senior Spotlight Series with Katie Crino! Katie was in InterVals for 4 years, and she graduated with a B.S. in Biology.

This summer, Katie started a new job working as a research writer for the health tech startup Guava. She also traveled all over Europe for a month!

Katie's favorite InterVals memory is her Lady Marmalade performance! When she forgot a dance move, Jane tapped her on the shoulder mid-performance :)

Katie's message for auditionees:
"If you’re thinking of auditioning, just do it. If you’re not sure of whether or not to join InterVals, just do it. You’re not gonna regret it. "

Hello, we're InterVals A Ca****la, an all-gender, non-competitive a ca****la group at UCSB! ☀️🌴

We make our own ✏️ original arrangements ✏️ of songs from any number of genres, and debut new arrangements at each of our quarterly concerts throughout the year!

🎤 Auditions 🎤 for singers and vocal percussionists are held at the beginning of each school year.
