Happy new year everyone! One of our friends in Santa Barbara needs help supporting his dog. He’s a few dollars short from being able to provide x-rays for his little pug. If you have a few bucks to spare, please consider donating, and please share widely. Thank you ❤️

Mike and Lorena of Ebby's Organic Farm supply a huge amount of produce to us and the IV Community Fridge. If you've ever seen their amazing greens or tomatoes in our meals, the Santa Barbara Farmers Market, Isla Vista Food Co-op, or at Trader Joe's, you know their stuff is the real deal.
A new, uncooperative landowner is demanding that they pay the water bill for the entire property, including residential housing. This is a more than 2x increase from before and would put the farm in financial jeopardy. The landowner is also demanding that Ebby's needs to expand the farm to some of the non-arable land located on the property, or they will be kicked out.
This leaves Mike and Lorena no choice but to literally uproot the farm and move somewhere new. Moving during the peak summer growing season means losing thousands of dollars worth of in-ground plants. This includes 5,000 strawberry plants, and hundreds of carrots, beets, lettuces, and greens. Additionally, Ebby's famous tomato crop has not yet been planted in anticipation of being forced out of the property, putting the farm months behind. Mike estimates that the farm is going to lose 30 to 50 thousand dollars during the move.
Raising this money will mean keeping the farm open and continuing to grow delicious, nutritious food for our community.
Please consider donating if you area able! We would love to give back to this family that has helped us so much over the years.

Folks, we’ll be tabling at this awesome event today, along with many other rad community organizations. Come by and say hi!
Don't forget that these actions will be taking place across Santa Barbara County tomorrow.
Come through, folks.
Last night news broke confirming our worst fears: the Supreme Court is prepared to end the constitutional right to abortion by overturning Roe v. Wade.
This is far from over. We have strength in numbers and power in our united voices. We are gathering tonight at 5:00 pm at De La Guerra Plaza in Santa Barbara and City Hall in Santa Maria to rally and make our voices heard.
Can’t make it? DM us or email [email protected] a pic showing how you support Planned Parenthood and abortion access for us to share!
No better occasion for mutual aid than May Day.
Just one day to go till our May Day Book Cafe, folks! Don’t forget that we’ll be serving free Zapatista coffee tomorrow! This is seriously some of the best coffee around—probably because it’s infused with the smoky flavor of rebellion.

More than two years on from our last May Day Festival, we are very happy to announce that we will once again be commemorating workers' struggles around the world this May 1!
Please join us next Sunday at the brand new Ecovista Collaborative Space--located at 6560 Pardall Road in Isla Vista--for our 2022 May Day Book Cafe! We will be there with our books, zines, stickers, pins, t-shirts, and Zapatista coffee from 12:00 to 3:00 pm. We'd love to hang out with you as we celebrate renewed labor militancy in the United States and beyond and gear up for the fights that lie ahead.
We'll share more details of the event in the days to come. For now, please share this post as widely as possible to ensure that we get a great turnout!

The anti-abortion fanatics we posted about yesterday—who are affiliated with Students for Life SB—were spreading their poison at SBCC today.
We have been informed that they were on the west side of the SBCC campus by the fountain but ended up leaving. Regardless, keep an eye out for them!
Come to the Really Really Free Market, folks!
