Karate West will be closed in honor of Labor Day Saturday, September 2nd through Monday, September 4th. We will reopen Tuesday, September 5th.

For students not testing, classes will be closed on the following dates (with the exception of Weapons, Red Belt and Black Belt Classes which will remain open).

IT'S BELT TESTING TIME!

Dates for Students Testing for White to Red Belt:

To be eligible to test, students must not have missed more than one month of training. New students must have completed two months of training. For students not testing, classes will be closed on these dates, with the exception of Weapons, Red Belt and Black Belt Classes (these will remain open).

The new class schedule will be published on Friday, Feb 10.

Dates for Students Testing for Black Belt and Ho Removal

Registration for the Black Belt test will open on Saturday, February 11th at 9:00am.

Students who have not attended or completed the Black Belt Prep Course must pass the Pre-Test on February 11 to register for the Black Belt test on February 17.

Saturday, February 11 – Black Belt Pre Test (7:00am-9:00am)
Monday, February 13 - Black Belt Bio due for students testing for Black Belt (attached)
Monday, February 13 – Ho Removal Essay due
Friday, February 17 – Ho Removal Ceremony (6:00pm) Black Belt Test (7:00pm)
Saturday, February 18 – Black Belt Award Ceremony (1:00pm)
February 20 – New Black Belts begin their classes

We follow the Issaquah School District closures. If they are open, or have late start, or close afterschool activities, Karate West will be open. However, if we need to make an adjustment and close for unsafe weather conditions, we will email and text our members. You can also find closure announcements under "Calendar" on the Karate West website. Please check there before emailing.

Most importantly, please decide what is safe for your family's travel to the dojo depending on where you live. Our heartfelt goal is that everyone stays safe.

Karate West will be closed 11/24, 11/25, 11/26 in honor of Thanksgiving. Enjoy this special time with family and friends! (For all holiday closures, visit "Calendar" on the Karate West website.)

KARATE WEST OPEN ON HALLOWEEN

We will be running classes on Monday, October 31st with a limited staff. Please join us if your schedule permits.

OCTOBER IS BELT TESTING MONTH

We will be belt testing students from October 14th thru October 18th. Students will test at their regular class time on the following dates.

- Students who attend class on Fri will test on Fri, Oct 14th at their regular class time (Belt Awards Oct 28th)
- Students who attend class on Sat will test on Sat, Oct 15th at their regular class time (Belt Awards Oct 29th)
- Students who attend class on Mon & Wed will test on Mon, Oct 17th at their regular class time (Belt Awards Oct 26th)
- Students who attend class on Tue & Thu will test on Tue, Oct 18th at their regular class time (Belt Awards Oct 27th)
- Students who attend class on Tue & Fri will test on Tue, Oct 18th at their regular class time (Belt Awards Oct 28th)

To be eligible to test, students must not have missed two months or more of training. White belt students must have completed two months of training.

Classes will be closed on the test dates listed above for students who are not testing.

Due to limited space, we ask parents not to attend the belt tests. Parents are invited to the Belt Awards (see above for dates).
