Chris Watkins Portraits

21 years ago in October my life changed big time.
When this photo was taken back in August 2003 you wouldn't be able to guess that I had a time bomb ticking inside of me....Cancer. I looked healthy, and basically I was except for the slow growing cancer.
The reality is that nobody knows how long they will live. I always say "life is short" and i say that to remind myself to make decisions faster and try not to be a perfectionist or have paralysis of analysis.

I came upon this photo because of a conversation about fitness and someone thought I looked younger than my age, and they wondered what I was like in my 20s. I was 25 here, started bodybuilding age 13.
I love looking through old photo albums, it helps me to stop wasting time because it reminds me that life is short and time is flying so fast, its scary.

21 years cancer free!....

So now i am in a hurry...for everything that is GOOD, all my goals and dreams. I hope you are too. Don't procrastinate anything that is good!

my sister got married yesterday! congrats to Matt and Nancy, and thanks to my nephew carrying around the huge flash to catch some sunset portraits at the end of the day. (ps- i dont photograph weddings any more though)

why do you like to travel?
i want to travel at least once a month. my goal is to travel to warm places in the winter, and in the summer time explore all the beautiful places in the summer that are only nice in the summer.....
Peru in 2008 was a really cool trip, there's always a crazy story! traveling makes me feel so good! i need it regularly.

So much work goes into gymnastics and its not just pure strength. i think its a pretty amazing sport and i love making creative beautiful and of course colorful portraits for the teams to make these memories. i wish i had something like this when i did track & field in high school. if you like this, share it with your athletic director or coach who should get something like this!

What is your family's favorite pastime? A lot of family reunions are happening right now. kids home from college too.
This local family loves bowling at the Lucky Strike Bellevue where we planned their family portraits and also ended up using these in the design of their Christmas cards. It was very fun and creative. Thanks to JB and Anaia at the Lucky Strike too for helping make this happen.
