TROPICAL STORM FRANCINE
The MREC will be closing its office ahead of Tropical Storm Francine. The office will close on Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. and potentially reopen on Thursday, September 12, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. This timeframe may change depending on the weather conditions.

MREC will close at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, August 30th, and will reopen at 8:00 am on
September 3rd.

Change in Renewal Fees Effective
July 1, 2024:

Effective July 1, 2024, License Renewal fees for Real Estate Brokers, Associate Brokers, Brokerage Firms (companies), and Branch Offices will decrease from $150.00 per renewal period to $100.00 per period. The renewal fee for a Salesperson will decrease from $120.00 to $100.00 per renewal period. The 100% penalty for late renewals still applies to all categories.

No fees are charged for a Business change of address, duplicate licenses, transfer of a license, or any changes from active status to inactive status or vice versa. Practically every transaction can be instantly completed using the safety of the state of Mississippi-approved pay portal.

For the fourth time in the last three years, licensees have been sent scam emails requesting personal information: including credit card numbers.
The MREC has not sent out any emails to licensees requesting any type of "verification," and your license will not be deactivated. Do not give out your information! The MREC will never ask for credit card information or validation of social security numbers. The only time you will enter a credit card number is when you personally initiate a transaction through the MREC safety portal. All licensees are encouraged to verify their personal information by accessing their profile on the MREC website.
