Residents at Good Samaritan Society – Jackson The Pines Assisted Living in Jackson, Minnesota, had an absolutely spooktacular Halloween! 🎃

Residents sported their best costumes, enjoyed festive goodies for the occasion and even got to hand out candy to local daycare kiddos!

Oh my gourd! So much Halloween fun was had at Good Samaritan Society – Heritage Grove in East Grand Forks, Minnesota! 🦇👻🎃

Residents and staff had a blast dressing up for the costume contest, dining on dirt and worm parfaits and raw meat Rice Krispie treats, bobbing for apples, posing in the photo booth and participating in various Halloween games!

Staff had a blast dressing up in costumes, and residents were treated to some snuggles from baby goats who visited the location in costume, too!

When asked what her favorite part about the event was, resident Barb reflected on her time as a teacher and said it's fun to see the kids bring different stories to life with their costumes.

At just 16 years old, Clara Stitt, administrator at Good Samaritan Society – Comforcare in Austin, Minnesota, started working for the Society – and never looked back.

“I love my job,” Clara said. “I don’t think a lot of people get to say they love their job. I love being able to have a direct impact on a lot of people and I get to live out my personal mission on this job. Helping people do what’s right.”

Residents from Good Samaritan Society – Comforcare in Austin, Minnesota, are pumpkin-spicing it up this Halloween! 🎃

Farmer John from Farmer John's Pumpkin Patch LLC recently came out to the location to demonstrate his go-to method for carving pumpkins. Farmer John is an expert in pumpkin carving!

Residents purchased mini pumpkins from the pumpkin patch to decorate, and will be voting in the annual staff pumpkin decorating content on Halloween. Check out some of the fun creations from residents and staff!

KidVentures Child Care and Preschool & Inspiring Minds Child Care & Preschool teamed up to host their annual Halloween costume parade at Good Samaritan Society – Fargo.

The event brings back great memories for residents ahead of the holiday.

KidVentures’ Halloween parade brings smiles and memories to seniors Kids in costumes brought Halloween cheer to seniors at Good Samaritan Society with a festive parade and candy.

In celebration of the team at Good Samaritan Society – Woodland in Brainerd, Minnesota, staff gathered to "paint the town"!

Each staff member was given a Woodland shirt and a plate full of paint. They were asked questions such as:

-Who inspires you?
-Who makes you laugh?
-Who do you wish you knew better?

They then proceeded to put a palmprint on the appropriate person's shirt! Its was a great team building activity and residents loved seeing all of the colorful tops and hearing all the laughter.

Good Samaritan Society – Corsica has had lots of accomplishments to celebrate this year – including receiving a Bronze Quality Award from American Health Care Association/National Center for Assisted Living!

We recently held celebratory activities for staff including Minute to Win It games, a caregiver race, an inflatable costume race and a talent show!

Residents at Good Samaritan Society – Heritage Grove in East Grand Forks, Minnesota, had a wonderful time during their recent Oktoberfest celebration!

This week, the staff and residents of GSS Jackson took time to remember the beautiful lives of the residents and staff person whose earthly journeys have ended over the last 18 months. We are so fortunate to have had these wonderful souls in our lives for the time that we did. Each person was commemorated with a handmade ornament on our tree in our chapel. These ornaments are available to the family members of those lives that we celebrated. If you would like your loved one's ornament, please contact Carrie at 507-847-3100

We had a fun day here at GSS Jackson dressing up in some of our Christmas finest today! It was great to see the smiles on our residents faces when they saw our attire!

We had a special guest, Addy, join us this week to build a gingerbread house with some of our residents to display in our dining room!! Thanks for sharing your joy and holiday spirit with us, Addy!!

We are a family here at GSS Jackson. Today, we are mourning the sudden and tragic loss of one of our employees, Neleh Hash, a CNA who worked here since May of 2019. Neleh brought joy, love and smiles to our residents and her fellow staff. We were so blessed to have Neleh as a part of our GSS family. We send our love, prayers, thoughts and sympathies to the Hash family and Neleh's many friends.

This Veterans Day, we take time to remember the veterans in our midst who gave so much for our country’s freedom. Thank you for your service.

Today, we used our artistic talent to make tree pieces into delicious looking slices of watermelon!

At GSS Jackson, we are so thankful & blessed to have LaDonna Evans , RN as our Director of Nursing. She is truly the best! She is always ready to go above and beyond for our residents and her coworkers!
