The first hardest thing I've ever posted was the loss of my daughter, Sherry. The 2nd, the loss of my Dad. The 3rd, the auction of my shop. I am NOT ok through this. This sucks so bad, most will never understand it. Not even my family understands. So far, I've tried to drink myself to death with Fireball......but I'm strangely resilient and keep waking up anyway. I spent a lifetime acquiring all of that stuff. I will sell it on September 24th for mere pennies of what it cost me....and it kills me. On top of that, I will owe taxes on every penny.... adding that to the astronomical bill I already owe and will literally never be able to pay off. All because I had the balls to try ....and fail at running my own business.
Randolph Machine auction is September 24th..... a lifetime of tools being sold.
I've had some people reach out, and I'm beginning to feel a little bit better about our situation. It's possible that we might yet land on our feet.
Donna and I were hit with some devastating news a week or so ago. The building that we have Randolph Machine in is owned by the city, and the city has made the decision that all of the tenants must be vacated from the building by September 30th. We are not in a position financially to be able to move, so it is time to move on. We're really not sure what we are going to do at this point. I am open to selling the business (but it would have to be moved), I'm also open to finding work somewhere. I will have to do something, as I'm not old enough to do social security yet....but old enough where starting over was not really in my plans. We've put 18 years of blood, sweat and tears into this shop. I have many memories. Worked with some great friends and family that are no longer with us. We've done a lot of amazing things and have worked for some really great customers. I wish I had been more successful at it.The reason I am posting this, is not to gain sympathy....but hoping that through networking, maybe a solution will present itself.
Well established company looking for partner or investor. Randolph Machine LLC, a Jackson area machine shop in business since 2007 is looking for a partner or investor that can bring a fresh perspective, new customers and help the company move into the future and grow with the goal of eventually passing the torch to someone else.
We have cnc machining capabilities and do mostly short and medium run prototype work. Anyone interested, please call Frank Randolph at Randolph Machine LLC at 517-841-6400.
I still got the skillz to hand grind a bad ass trepan tool.
Please understand what NOT using cash is doing.
Cash is important.
Why should we pay cash everywhere we can
with banknotes instead of a credit card?
I have a $50 banknote in my pocket.
Going to a restaurant and paying for dinner with it. The restaurant owner then uses the bill to pay for the laundry. The laundry owner then uses the bill to pay the barber. The barber will then use the bill for shopping.
After an unlimited number of payments, it will still remain a $50, which has fulfilled its purpose to everyone who used it for payment and the bank has jumped dry from every cash payment transaction made...
But if I come to a restaurant and pay digitally - Card, and bank fees for my payment transaction charged to the seller are 3%, so around $1.50 and so will the fee $1.50 for each further payment transaction or owner re laundry or payments of the owner of the laundry shop, or payments of the barber etc.....
Therefore, after 30 transactions, the initial $50 will remain only $5 and the remaining $45 became the property of the bank thanks to all digital transactions and fees.
Small businesses need your help and this is one way to help ourselves too. Pull small draws of cash out at a time and use that instead of tap, credit, etc.
When this is put into perspective, imagine what each retailer is paying on a monthly basis in fees at 3% per transaction through their POS machine.
If they have, for example, $50,000 in sales & 90% are by Card, they are paying $1500 in fees in ONE Month. $18,000 in a year! That comes out of their income every month.
That would go a long way to helping that small business provide for its family.
Door Rollers.
Just to put them on blast for non-payment. I absolutely CANNOT recommend doing any work for American Broach in Ypsilanti, Michigan. You won't get paid on time, if at all.
Update: Adopted ❤️
They named me Dumbo & put me in the shelter.
I’m the quietest, most laid back Hound dog you’ll ever meet. They should have named me Droopy Dog because I learned everything about being a dog from him. He’s my hero. (Google it if you’re a millennial)
I’m getting pretty sad being here and would like to be with a family and go for walks and even play a little…have you ever seen a dog play fetch in slow motion??? I can show you!
Even though my sad face looks just like my happy face…you’ll see my tail wag once I get to go home with you!!
Just some old pics of a part we made.
Had a new customer call out of the blue and wanted to know if we would like to quote a couple packages of work. We quoted it. Got every single job that we quoted. That should be great, right ??? Not so fast. I was alarmed immediately. Something seemed too good to be true, but you have to give people the benefit of the doubt. I mean, are there companies out there that are just looking for a sucker to give a bunch of work to, with no intentions of paying on time, or maybe paying at all ??? Well, I can tell you from first hand experience that there are DEFINITELY customers out there like that.
It's a wonder I don't hate being in business. It's not very much fun when you can't get paid for the hard work you do.
Hi, I'm Millie! I'm a 7-month-old hound-mix. I am a bit shy so I am looking for someone who is willing to teach me how wonderful life can be!
I am super sweet once I open up to you! In fact, I can be pretty playful! I have experience with sleeping in a crate, a little bit of experience walking on a leash, and I know how to sit!
I think I would do best in a home with medium to large breed dogs because I sometimes get confused and think I am bigger than I am! AND I love to play!
I've been spayed, made up to date on all necessary vaccines, microchipped, and tested negative for heartworm. Now I just need a perfect forever family! Come meet me! I'm at Cascades Humane Society and they're open Tuesday-Saturdays from 12-6pm!
Stop in and fill out an application! Looking for bartenders and servers. Must be able to work weekends. All bartenders start as servers to learn the entire menu.
Spring will be here before you know it 😀 Come join out team!

Sick as a dog for 3 weeks now. My Mazak CNC is broke down at work. Electrical issue. Had a guy in today to look at it. He couldn't fix it. Of course, almost ALL of my work has to go through this machine and I am super busy and behind the 8 ball. But, can't sit around crying about it, so moved on and set up a job in my turret lathe. A couple hours later, Donna noted the floor was covered with coolant ..... coolant tank sprung a leak. At that point, I went in the office to continue coughing my lungs out..... angry.
Altering an air ratchet to fit my power drawbar.
