READ PSALMS 87:1 THROUGH 88:18
Matt didn’t want to get out of bed. He slept most of the day, ignored phone calls and texts, and forgot to eat. His wife worried about his depression and insisted he see a doctor. After getting medical assistance, Matt also began seeing a Christian counselor, who helped him deal with his despair.
Reading the Psalms proved helpful to Matt. Many verses felt like expressions of his own heart. He could identify with the wretched situations described, yet he found that the Psalmist always turned to God for answers and aid. This example helped Matt as he struggled to overcome his own condition.
O Lord, God of my salvation, I cry out to you by day. I come to you at night (Psalm 88:1).
Like the Psalmist, people today can call out to God at any time, about every problem they face. He cares, and He hears. Only God can truly meet a person’s needs.
Seek Him first, and follow His guidance for solving the difficulties of life.
Prayer Suggestion: Ask God to help you with your personal struggles, and praise Him for the victory.
