Posted • Tunica, MS | Day One of the 25th Anniversary of the Congressional Black Congress’ Mississippi Policy Conference was filled with impactful conversations and inspiring moments.
The Mississippi State Conference NAACP had the privilege of joining leaders, local + national officials, and advocates from across the state and nation to discuss critical issues affecting our communities. From policy to housing development and social justice initiatives to bridging the divide of the Black wealth gaps. We are energized by the shared commitment to creating a brighter future for our people, our community, and for all Mississippians.
The panels titled “The Black Wealth Agenda: Bridging the Divide” and “Promoting Equity” with community leaders including: Adrianne Todman, Christopher Coes, Xochitl Torres Small, Kendall Corley, Kortne Edogun-Ticey, Jennifer Clyburn Reed, Natalie Madeira Cofield, Nikitra Bailey, Lillian German, Jeffrey Gooden, and Vincent Evans, and Mayor Stephen Benjamin engaged in powerful discussions on advancing policy and promoting justice.
We are excited for the rest of the weekend marks a significant milestone in our collective journey, and we look forward to continue these important discussions in the days ahead.
