Today’s meeting was absolutely amazing!

We had the pleasure of having Monique Akanbi, the SHRM Field Services Director, present on “The Empathy Deficit-Strengthening Your Organization’s Culture by Leading with Empathy”. During her presentation, we were educated on the difference and importance of empathy and sympathy. Mrs.Akanbi also spoke about benefits and pitfalls of three types of empathy-cognitive ,emotional ,& compassionate ,the importance of exercising self-disclosure without oversharing and the intersection of empathy, mental health, and diversity, equity,& inclusion. Moreover, Monique provided statistics regarding Workplace Mental Health, strategies for addressing Workplace Mental Health, and fostering empathy in the workplace.
