Introducing “A Day of da Vinci” from MPB, the Mississippi Department of Education, the Mississippi Arts Commission, the Mississippi Humanities Council, the Mississippi School for Math and Science, and the Mississippi School of the Arts.
“A Day of da Vinci” offers teachers in the state’s school districts lesson plans to promote K-12 interdisciplinary STEAM instruction. Through offered trainings in July, August, and September and classroom implementation through the fall, participating teachers will receive CEUs counting toward teacher licensure.

The Juneteenth holiday recognizes the final end of legalized slavery in Texas on June 19, 1865, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. Explore the origins of Juneteenth and its impact through conversations with direct descendants of those who were liberated.

The Mississippi Public Broadcasting Student Council is a unique opportunity for middle and high school students across the state. It provides students with practical career training, allows them to spearhead civic engagement initiatives, and positions them as ambassadors for the MPB Workforce Development Advisory Board and among their peers.
This council is an initiative of the MPB Education Department. It not only prepares students for college and careers but also empowers them with social media skills to actively participate in dialogues about Mississippi’s development. The council members take the lead in promoting MPB projects, producing a podcast, and designing campaigns that resonate with their generation, leveraging their unique habits and expressions.
