Connecting children and their parents to God and to people in order to change the world. Elevate happens each Sunday, 9:30-12:00. I need to make the wise choice.
The Kids' Ministry of Highland Park Church in Jackson, Tennessee is connecting kids and their parents to God and to people in order to change the world.
1st-5th Graders worship, learn, and build relationships each Sunday morning in Elevate while parents are in worship. Elevate is our primary ministry with kids and happens during our contemporary adult worship service. During Elevate, kids will e
xperience a large group worship service and a small group with their peers. Each group has a small group leader with no more than 10 kids. Check-in for Elevate begins 15 minutes before start time. When a kid moves to middle school, we want him or her to have experienced and own three basic truths modeled by Jesus in Luke 2:52. We reinforce these truths each week. I can trust God no matter what. I should treat others the way I want to be treated. Preschoolers have their own LifeGroup and Worship experience during the Worship Services. During this time we focus on three key principles. God made me. God loves me. Jesus wants to be my friend forever. Simple enough for our preschoolers to grasp. Profound enough for us as adults to take to heart. Beginning at age 2, preschoolers will have a great time participating in age-appropriate activities with their LifeGroup (small group) that will help them learn these three vital truths. Ages 3-5 will also attend a large group session where skits and songs bring the weekly Bible story to life. But it doesn’t end there. At Highland Park, we want to partner with you as parents to help you engage your preschooler at home. Each month you will receive a Small Talk card. This resource gives you fun ideas to help you teach your child about God during play time, car time, bath time, and cuddle time. All of this happens in our kids building. Kids and Preschoolers are signed in at our check-in desk for security purposes. Kids get a name tag and parents get a receipt to use when picking up their kid. A parent's love combined with the church’s influence can impact the life of a child in wonderful ways. Let’s work together to plant the seeds of God’s love in every little heart, paving the way for a child to one day choose to live a life centered in Christ. Today we heard the story about how Jesus healed the blind man. We then colored our own “unseen creation” with our eyes closed. They had so much fun!
