On average, men in the United States die nearly 6 years earlier than women and are at higher risk for many serious diseases, including heart disease, lung cancer, and HIV. In addition, men experience unique health problems that don’t affect women, like prostate cancer. Negative impacts of SDOH factors, like economic stability and educational access and quality, can increase their risk for poor health outcomes. Visit a Community Health Center today to get screened to protect your health.
Men's Health Network established Wear BLUE to raise awareness about the importance of male health and to encourage men to live longer and healthier lives.
Organizations and individuals can 'Wear Blue' the Friday before Father's Day.

These skills help CHCs elevate the required data reporting to the Uniformed Data System. The Uniform Data System (UDS) is a standardized reporting system, administered by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), that collects quality performance data from health centers providing health care services to underserved communities and vulnerable populations. Data helps in quality improvement with patient care and outcomes.
Mississippi CHCs were represented at the recent retirement celebration of long-time CHC leader Lathran Woodard. Ms. Woodard dedicated 36 years of her life to both the community health center movement and mission of the South Carolina Primary Health Care Association. Terrence M. Shirley, CEO of the Community Health Center Assoc. of Mississippi, and Dr. James Coleman, CEO of G.A. Carmichael Community Health Center and Board Chair, were there to celebrate Ms. Woodard and her accomplishments at the event.
