Chris Voss is a negotiation expert and was Jason's Negotiations Professor at Georgetown's McDonough School of Business circa 2010. He is also a best-selling author of Never Split the Difference, which is based on his time as the Lead International Hostage Negotiator for the FBI. They will be discussing how Chris’s experience as a FBI hostage negotiator led to him teaching the negotiation skills you need to succeed in business and life, and those skills Jason used as a negotiator along with an unwillingness to compromise to found GORUCK.

THOUSANDS OF MILES COVERED IN 2024

So far there have been 321 GORUCK led events, multiple community events with our partners and friends, and thousands of miles covered in 2024 – from the beaches of Normandy, to the sidewalks of Las Vegas, and everywhere in between. Rucking is our foundation and we take pride in bringing rucking to millions of ruckers of all shapes, sizes, and backgrounds.

Fort Worth Brew Ruck - In Honor of Lazar Ðukić

Tonight, we will be completing a Brew Ruck around the Stockyards of Fort Worth in honor of Lazar Ðukić. We will meet and start at Tannahill’s Tavern & Music Hall at 8pm (local time) and continue from there. Before the ruck begins, there will be an opportunity to make an optional donation to the family of Lazar. The link in our bio will have more information as well as an opportunity to RSVP, but all are welcome.

In honor of Lazar, who tragically drowned during the first event at the CrossFit Games, we want to support his family in any way we can. A replica of Lazar’s uniform is now available for pre-order and 100% of the net proceeds will go to his family.

- 5pm: Spectator event with PRVN right on the grounds of Will Rogers (TBD)

Something that we pride ourselves on here at GORUCK is donating 1% of our annual top-line revenue to various non-profit organizations that support those who serve. And we wanted to highlight that mission here at the 2024 CrossFit Games.

We laid out two posters and have had every athlete that’s come by sign each one. After the Games, we’re going to auction them off and give the proceeds to those non-profits that we work with. Our communities are all about giving back to those who serve. We’re happy to share that with all of the athletes.

COMMUNITY & SERVICE

Athlete check-in at the 2024 CrossFit Games has officially started and we couldn’t be more excited to give athletes a glimpse into GORUCK and our way of life. The values we hold close to us: community and service.

Community is where it’s at. The community wall has the signatures of our GORUCK staff, CrossFit HQ, and anyone that comes through, along with who the athletes want to thank for getting to this point in their careers.

The service wall has the faces of every hero who has a Hero WOD named after them. We see their faces, remember their names, and thank them for their service. With that, our mission is to always give back to those who serve and we can’t wait to auction some posters off and donate the proceeds to our 1% For Those Who Serve. I found out the workout details when everyone else did, and I thought it was a fresh take on rucking to increase the weight over time." - Jason McCarthy

When Dave Castro decided to put ruck running in the 2019 CrossFit Games led to two MAJOR gear improvements at GORUCK:

(1) We changed the back panel of the Rucker and Ruck Plate Carrier to 210D CORDURA so they could be worn shirtless. This change was made because athletes who went shirtless got a ton of friction burn on their backs after running with their 1000D CORDURA Rucker 2.0.
(2) We designed the Rough Runners for a "niche" activity called ruck running. The goal was comfort AND support -- so that you could carry weight and move it. The happy accident was that the support required for the physical demands of ruck running -- those solutions also transferred to loaded lifts. And as Tia has publicly stated, LIFTING heavy ass weight also works well in our “Runners.”
