One more chapter to edit, and then the first run through is done.
If anyone would like to be a beta reader, let me know.
I would like sincere feedback (what works, what doesn't, what is confusing or needs work.)
Please let me know if you are interested.
Having a rough time at editing.
I get imposter syndrome, and begin to feel like I'm trying to polish crap. That this book will never be good enough and nothing that I do will change that. In a critique it was mentioned that I need to be more clear on my perspective (since I tend to head hop.) And I get overwhelmed if I am correcting the issues, or making the worse
So I put it aside. Weeks go by. Until suddenly, I feel like myself again and want to work on this book.
But sometimes I get so engulfed in the book. Sometimes because I really liked the scene when I wrote it, and it brings back happy memories. Other times, I completely forgot I am supposed to be editing and make it through a few chapters before I realize my pencil hasn't once touched the paper
Then there are times like the one I find myself in. Where I read the whole chapter (a rather important turning point, so it cannot be cut) and think to myself "I don't remember hitting my head or getting drunk and spewing out such garbage.". The whole chapter has to be re-done.
The bones are there, but they are broken and weak.
But I am up to 90k words. And I really do love the story. So, I know it will get there.
Over the years I have been sent various clothing from programs I did or a writing subscription box.

Story Teller socks
If someone sends me cozy Author Pajama bottoms, my writing uniform will be complete
Hubby brought home my first draft (Staples printed and bound it)
Now starts the editing!!!
Wish me luck!
It is finished!!!!! Currently 302 pages, 87k words.
One half chapter away from this book being done
And by done I mean I still have to edit, send to beta readers, edit again, query and if in God's plan find an agent and/ or sell it.
I mean, I'm almost there, right? Finish the half chapter and the rest is cake.
The book was finished!! And as excited as I was about that, I took a friend's advice (over a year old advice, but I digress) and am reworking the opening chapters.
Bad news is, I know have four more chapters to go.
Good news is, I have them planned out and am halfway through the first of the four
(And then starts the ever so fun but if editing.)
Hitting 60k words feels amazing.
I think I'll be looking for beta readers by the first of the year.
I hold on my hand the 1st 7 chapters, which are already littered with pink ink pointing out the needed corrections.
But, I have 7 chapters on paper!
Chapter one is complete!!! It only took several months of staring at blank pages (and will need hours of editing)
But it's on paper, so I call that a win
Daddy daughter date night. Have the house to myself. Music playing. So many words to put to a page. So what am I going to do?
Post to social media!!
My husband sent me a quote that you can edit a bad page, but you can't edit a blank page.
So I typed a lot of gibberish and am now drinking wine waiting for the editor elves to do their job and present me with my final draft
This is how writing works, right?
I've got this author thing down!!
