It was a pleasure speaking with members of the Meninak Club, Leadership Jacksonville Next Generation, and League of Women Voters Jacksonville First Coast today. It's my goal to hold the door open for the brilliant young leaders who joined us today!

Earlier this afternoon, I had the honor of welcoming Vice President Kamala Harris to Jacksonville International Airport. She is here to speak about protecting our fundamental freedoms and teaching America’s full history.

“Unity in our city, in our state and in our country begins with respecting each other’s humanity. Any attempt to cast slavery as a benefit to Black people is offensive and unacceptable. We must teach our children the truth about slavery. It was a savage attack on humanity and that must be acknowledged. We must face the demons of our past to offer all our children a better future.”

I loved seeing the READ USA Literacy Tutoring Program in action! Improving grade level reading will be a top priority as we look to a renewed and reinvigorated Jacksonville Journey.

Our budget reflects the priorities of the people. It makes investments that will create generational opportunities to live, earn, learn, and love with a good quality of life. I look forward to putting these dollars to work and creating a city that works for all of us. coj.net/budget

Spending time with the Beaches homeless community was a humbling reminder that we have more work to do for our unhoused neighbors. I’m grateful for the compassion of the faith community and non-profits doing the work and am committed to finding more ways to support their mission.

I’m excited that Miller Electric Company broke ground on a new electric vehicle charging and testing station that is open to the public – the first of its kind in the country! We are on our way to a reduced carbon footprint and Jacksonville becoming an EV technology and innovation hub. ⚡️

Ben Frazier had a way of bringing us together in the spirit of love. Yesterday as his life was remembered and celebrated, we heard story after story about Ben’s work as the voice for the voiceless. He challenged and inspired us to create a world that is more equal, fair and just.

Happy to support this important cause! It was inspiring to see our Jacksonville community come together to support families impacted by a childhood cancer diagnosis.

Heartbreaking. I’m praying for the officer’s family and our entire JSO community who are reeling from this devastating tragedy. Let’s send them love and light during this difficult time.

Our new day has arrived! Thank you for placing your faith in me, Jacksonville! I believe in you. I believe in us. If we work together, lift as we climb, choose love over fear, and see each other’s humanity, I’m optimistic our beautiful mosaic called Jacksonville will become the Masterpiece we all desire.

Warmest wishes and greetings to Muslims in Jacksonville and their families both here and abroad as they celebrate Eid-al-Adha. This holiday, which begins at sundown today and extends to all day tomorrow, is a special occasion that marks the sacrifices of Abraham and his son, a story that is also familiar to our Jewish and Christian neighbors. The day brings together families in prayer, love, and friendship. May the spirit of community fill all who celebrate with joy and togetherness. From my family to yours, Eid-Mubarak.

Jacksonville won’t be the same without Ben Frazier. He was the first Black anchor of a local TV news program. He advocated for civil rights and equality from City Hall to the United Nations. A man of integrity and conviction, Ben brought overwhelming passion to everything he did. We’ve lost a true legend. Let’s continue his work to give a voice to the voiceless.

From the first woman mayor to the first pro women’s sports team, Jacksonville is making history. I can’t wait to root on our Jax_USL soccer team!

Congratulations to Council President Ron Salem, Council VP Randy White, Supervisor of Elections Jerry Holland, Property Appraiser Joyce Morgan, and all the city council members on taking office. I look forward to working with you all to bring a new day to Jacksonville.

In addition to being just a wonderful human being and of course a great fellow Seminole, George Winterling set the bar for credibility in television meteorology. He was instrumental in many of the emergency preparedness measures we have in place today and first and foremost he was a lover of Jacksonville. Heaven has gained a new community garden and we have lost a giant.

As we celebrate freedom and reflect on history for , our work continues to create a city where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

It was my honor to attend this morning’s Memorial Day Service at the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Wall. My heart is with our Gold Star families who continue to grieve for those who have given all for our country. May God bless them and comfort them.

This brilliant woman deserves special praise. Our fearless campaign manager, Pat McCollough created the plan from day 1 and worked it to perfection. Pat is a Marine, a minister, and a grassroots legend. This victory is hers and we’re just getting started. Thank you Pat! ♥️

I can’t begin to thank you enough for your support! We have a new day in Jacksonville because of it. You believed in and you worked your heart out to bring it to the city we all love.

When we launched this campaign, we said we’d build a grassroots movement that Jacksonville has never seen before. That’s exactly what we did. It was a people-powered campaign with the goal of bringing all the people with us into City Hall.

I’m grateful for the thousands of supporters who knocked on doors, texted and called neighbors, joined town halls and community conversations, donated, and spread the word. Your energy, time, talent, and treasure made the difference.

It’s been a long journey. The past year and a half hasn’t been easy. We won this race because we ran alongside each other every step of the way. We left the starting line and crossed the finish line together.

I also want to thank all the people of Jacksonville for the trust you’ve placed in me. This race was never about Democrats, Republicans, or Independents. It was about all of us choosing love over fear. We wouldn't have won if it hadn’t been for everyone coming together as a community.
