In February 2000, I just turned ten years old and thought it was a normal day at school. I remember every grown up was crying for some reason. It was not normal. Apparently my classmate and best friend Andrew Michael Turner had died in his sleep. That was my first experience with death. it was a shock to the school.

23 years later, My school does their annual Andrew Turner Track Meet and special Olympics. This is the first time since covid and I am attending.
