A Glimpse Through the Spectrum: our Journey with Kingston!

In the tapestry of life, every thread adds color, texture, and depth. My son Kingston, with his autism, has woven a world so vibrant, it’s like stepping into a different dimension. Here:

- Dinosaurs aren’t just fossils; they’re characters with names and stories.
- Birds aren’t just birds; they’re individuals with distinct identities.
- Puzzles? They’re not just puzzles but masterpieces waiting to be revealed.
- Books? They’re not just books but best friends who come along on the journey.

Through Kingston’s eyes, I’ve been granted a passport to a universe where details matter, where patterns form not just shapes but entire narratives. His mind, a repository of facts from every corner of knowledge, has shown us the vastness of what’s often unseen.

The Exchange of Worlds : While Kingston has been our guide in this detailed, beautiful realm, I’ve come to understand my role isn’t to “fix” or “normalize.” It’s to share. To gently introduce him to the social nuances of our world, teaching him the art of expression, the art of languages, the craft of speech, the skill of putting sentences together, the joy of interaction, and the simplicity of daily life’s dance. Slowly, we are able to get him to understand, bit by bit.

This isn’t about telling you what to do but inviting you to see. To recognize that within every individual, there’s a universe of unique insights waiting to be explored. Kingston’s world, with its intricate puzzles and encyclopedic knowledge, has taught us that what we often overlook is where the true magic lies.

let’s not just seek to understand but to marvel. Let’s embrace the opportunity to learn from each other’s worlds. Because in the spectrum of human experience, every shade, every hue, adds to the beauty of the whole.
