Attendees enjoyed adaptive activities like running, biking, wheelchair basketball, painting, yoga and more. Prosthetists, physicians, chiropractors and physical and occupational therapists were also on site to provide support and services.

Maddie is an operations manager at TCM at Springfield Clinic Peoria Women's Health. She is described by her colleagues as patient-focused, a quick learner, eager helper and hard worker. She shows up every day to ensure her team is supported and patients are cared for and heard.
Our SC Celebrates program highlighted 240 employees in 2023 who were nominated by their colleagues for exceptional work. SC Celebrates superstars were eight individuals out of the 240 who were selected by an organization-wide committee for special recognition of their commitment to Springfield Clinic and our patients. ๐ฉโโ๏ธ In partnership with the Springfield Urban League and Birth to Five Illinois, Springfield Clinic helped to provide pre-screenings for hearing and vision for youth in the Urban League's Head Start program in Springfield.
๐ค The Regional Cancer Partnership of Illinois, a collaboration of Simmons Cancer Institute, Memorial Health, Springfield Clinic and other organizations, hosted free skin cancer screenings. With May being National Skin Cancer Awareness Month, the event encouraged cancer prevention and mindfulness. Springfield Clinic's Dr. Sweet and other dermatologists from SIU screened over 100 patients!
๐ Enjoyed a Mother's Day brunch in support of Solid Rock Youth Transitional Services that provides resources to youth and families in the foster care system.

Chris Draft, NFL alumni and former Chicago Bear, recently visited Springfield Clinic to support our efforts in raising awareness about the importance of lung cancer screenings.
Draft, who represents The White Ribbon Project and founded the Chris Draft Family Foundation, is a key partner in the American Cancer Society's Illinois Lung Cancer Roundtable. Following his late wife Keashaโs battle with lung cancer, Chris advocates for increased funding for lung cancer research and screenings.

Effective June 3, 2024, Springfield Clinic Endocrinology and Nephrology care teams are moving five blocks down Carpenter Street to a newly renovated building.
The new facility was designed with patients in mind, with all of the typical endocrinology and nephrology services our patients have come to rely on, plus expanded lab access and care spaces.
The new location will be located at 401 E. Carpenter Street near Fourth Street in Springfield.
All appointments scheduled through May 31 will go on as scheduled at our current location. Any appointments after May 31 will be held at the new facility. Patients with questions about this change should call either 217.670.8405 (Endocrinology direct line) or 217.525.2827 (Nephrology direct line), and our staff will be happy to assist.
Join us in congratulating Meghan Carter, RN, on graduating with her associate's degree in nursing. Meghan is the first graduate from Springfield Clinic's program for nursing advancement from LPN to RN through partnership with Lincoln Land Community College. She was pinned in a ceremony by her mom, Jodi Carter, RN, who dedicated many years to Springfield Clinic's Women's Health team.
Working in pediatrics for the last eight years, Meghan started in the call center and, after two years, became an LPN. She was eager for the growth opportunities this nursing advancement program offered.
Meghan says, "In each step of my career, Springfield Clinic fully supported my endeavors. I was very excited they were able to offer this bridge program to employees and strongly encourage others to apply for the program!"

Meet Dr. Amrita Pandit, a general and bariatric surgeon with Springfield Clinic. Growing up surrounded by a lot of poverty and disease, Dr. Pandit decided early on she wanted to become a doctor to help advocate for and serve the community.
"My whole dream was to help the underserved and people who need assistance in health care and, while doing so, I hope I can touch many lives and I hope I have long standing relationships with my patients," she says.
Dr. Pandit is accepting new patients at Springfield Clinic Bloomington-Normal.

Join us in congratulating Amy Goeckner, Springfield Clinic rural health clinic coordinator, with her recent completion of the Certified Rural Health Clinic Professional Course and Exam through the National Association of Rural Health Clinics (NARHC)!
Amy is a registered nurse and has been part of the quality management and rural health team at Springfield Clinic since 2022. She assists our 16 rural health clinics across our region with compliance and reporting.
Amy says, "I am so fortunate to be involved with our rural clinics and bring a better understanding to the importance of why they exist. The overall benefit they bring the the rural communities is outstanding. By being a certified rural health clinic professional, I can feel confident and assured that I am bringing the most of my knowledge to our practices to help them continue to thrive."

April was a busy month of community outreach efforts! Here's a snippet of what we've been up to lately:
๐ฅณ Dr. Valenzuela & his Springfield Clinic Peoria team hosted an 80s rave themed event to raise awareness and support for MS.
๐ We helped provide Ball-Chatham CUSD5 staff members with opportunities to connect with local resources and helped promote personal health at their Staff Health & Wellness Fair.
๐ Dr. Windie McKay and Gina Clearwater, RN, served people experiencing homelessness in Springfield by collecting and delivering essentials to Washington Street Mission. Donations are always welcome at Springfield Clinic Chiropractic! (355 West Carpenter Street, Springfield, IL)
๐ Our Cancer Center team participated in Relay for Life to benefit the American Cancer Society.
๐ We provided free health resources and education to students at the University of Illinois Springfield Health Fair.
๐ We had a blast at the Color Me Holi Run to support Share the Spirit Foundation, a group that provides free shoes and socks to underserved children.
๐ฆธโโ๏ธ We put on our capes and running shoes to participate in the Superhero Hustle 5k, benefitting local Kiwanis Club of Springfield - Downtown programs.
๐จโ๐ฉโ๐งโ๐ฆ We helped provide free health resources and education to underprivileged families in Springfield at the Black Family Wellness Expo.
๐ต With the help of Ward 5 Alderwoman Lakeisha k Purchase, Meridian and several other local organizations, we brought health care directly to senior services at a Spring Wellness Event.
๐ We bid on purses at Power of the Purse, a silent auction benefiting MERCY Communities to support homeless and at-risk families.
โจ We enjoyed a four-course meal prepared and served by Lincoln Land Community College students at their annual gala, helping to support LLCC students and programs.

๐ Meet Donna Renfro, quality management business specialist. Donna has been with Springfield Clinic for over 20 years but is relatively new to the Quality Management team. After two decades of working in Women's Health, she's now making an impact on the patient experience from a different role.
"I have found a new love and understanding for the 'backside' of things, and it is equally as interesting to me. I am now learning how I can serve on this side," she says.
Donna encourages everyone to utilize their knowledge and resources to take care of those around them. "From cleaning crews to presidents, we all play a role."
First class service since 1956! Longtime patient David W. recently shared with us some experiences he's had over the past 67 years with his trusted Springfield Clinic providers.
"My first doctor was Dr. Eveloff and then Dr. Montgomery. I was a patient with Dr. Kozak for many years and I have other great doctors as well: Dr. Paradowski, Dr. Kellenberger, Dr. Zhen, Dr. Rai, Dr. Pacheco, Dr. Agarwal and Mike Genin," he shared.
