A little story about our Blue Orchid Flower Buds 💙🪻
Here’s a picture of our beautiful Yaiy preparing the special purple, blueish dough for this dish. Yaiy means grandmother in Thai. ✨

While this dish is very special to us, it’s equally polarizing for our customers to who either love it or are not the biggest fans. So let’s talk about this special appetizer on our menu.

Flower Buds, also known as Chor Muang, is an ancient royal dish unique for its flower-shaped appearance and indigo coloring from the butterfly pea flower used to make the dough. Here at Blue Orchid, our Flower Buds are formed into a flower-shape and filled with ground chicken, toasted sesame seeds, peanuts and coconut. The taste? Sweet, salty and truly a journey for the taste buds.

We hope this inspires to give our Flower Buds a try and embrace a taste of Thailand royalty on your next visit in. 😉
