The Theta Sigma chapter at UNF was founded in 1987, and it has grown into one of the most active organizations on campus. Locally, Alpha Chi Omega's work with the Hubbard House, the biggest domestic violence shelter in the southeast. “I joined axo because every girl I met felt like family. I have found my sisters in every sense of the word, my support system, and an amazing group of women who I am honored to call my friends. I love each and every one of them to death and they remind me daily why I’m grateful to call myself an axo. These past 4 years would not have been the same without them, and the friends I’ve made will last a lifetime. “Transferring from California to here and knowing nobody, I went through recruitment with hopes that I will find girls who will make me feel at home. I chose Alpha Chi because the girls definitely made me know I found my second home. They made me feel comfortable and loved right away, and they keep showing me that in different ways. I am able to dance crazy at formal with others joining me, girls who will cry with me and literally carry me when my knee gets hurt, and sisters who randomly get Pitbull tickets with me in line at Insomnia. These girls keep showing me that I am important to them and what a sisterhood means.”
