One year ago, we made some of the most significant changes in our 10-year history. First, we welcomed the incredible Dr. Mauney to our practice. Known throughout Jacksonville for her exceptional patient care, Dr. Mauney was a natural fit for Full Circle. We also added Midwife Missy, who came from the natural birth community and seamlessly integrated with our unique clientele.
The biggest change? We switched hospitals after nine years! While some were apprehensive, the move has been nothing short of magical. Don’t just take our word for it—ask the doulas and check the patient reviews. We’re so thankful to HCA Florida Memorial for accommodating our needs and our patients’ desires -- e.g. labor tubs 📸 credit:

Six years ago, Dr. A made the crucial decision to add another physician to the practice—a choice that could have significantly impacted Full Circle if done hastily or in error. She nailed it 🎯 by selecting Dr. Marrow, affectionately known as Dr. A's "left-hand woman." Dr. Marrow is known for her compassion, dedication, and treating the practice like her own. Comment below if you have stories of Dr. Marrow and the excellent care that she provides! 🤗

**Fun facts** This building served as a de facto hurricane shelter for Dr. A and her family (pictured here) during several storms🌪️ throughout the years. At her request, we share the story of facebook.com/RaychHand , whose life was forever changed by Preeclampsia and HELLP Syndrome. In the midst of her tragedy, she is willing to help anyone who's facing these complications. Thank you, Racheal, for your strength.
May is Preeclampsia Awareness Month, with World Preeclampsia Day on May 22. Hypertensive disorders of pregnancy (HDPs) complicate 5-10% of pregnancies and can lead to severe (and fatal) complications for mother and baby. If you've never had high blood pressure before pregnancy and suddenly you do, please don't ignore it. Raise awareness this May!

I would never in a million years think this would be our story. You hear of these things happening to “those people” or “that family” but never imagine it being you.
Here is a brief video of our story. At only 25 weeks and a couple days I was forced to give birth to my son, Cayden Cruz Hand. Due to the diagnosis of severe preeclampsia and HELLP syndrome. He was born at only 1.5lbs and 12inches. He was strong for being so tiny. He fought for 5 days until mama was able to break free from the hospital and he ended up passing away the following day. I’m so grateful my son waited for me before heading home to Jesus. He was the greatest blessing and impacted so many peoples lives in his short little life of 6 days.
We don’t know why. We don’t know “the plan” God has. We don’t know how to grieve such a massive loss. We don’t know how to even function quite honestly. But my husband and I do know, we have to keep going for our 2 older boys. We have to keep Cayden's memory alive. Bring awareness to these conditions. And find joy in the smallest things.
Grateful that God spared my boys and husband from mourning two losses.
My favorite pictures are of little hands wrapped around mommy or daddy's fingers. How fitting is it that tagged us in this one?
Another day, another beautiful HCA Florida Memorial delivery!
Sweet little early bird just couldn’t wait for her guess date and decided to swoop into mommy’s arms bright and early this morning. Born en caul in the most smooth and beautiful way. 💞
Dr. "A"mazing is seen in this video performing a belly birth with the baby born in his sac! 😮 🤩 captured the moment.

5/12/24 @ 2:04 AM I receive a text "I think my water may have broken"
This mama was scheduled for a scheduled Belly Birth on 5/13 due both babies being breech! Well these babies had other plans and wanted to meet their mama on Mother's Day! Upon arriving to the hospital, it was confirmed babies were still breech and since mama's body was going into labor on her own, they decided to move forward with performing the belly birth that morning! It was so calm prepping mama for her C-Section. We peacefully made our way into the OR. I supported my client as they administered her spinal and got her ready to meet her babies! Once mom and Dr. Adams were all ready, dad joined us in the OR.
Baby A came at 9:17 AM ...
A few minutes later Dr. Adams was delivering baby B, I was able to capture the most beautiful video of Baby B being delivered en caul (in his sac) via a Cesarean. So gentle, slow and calm. The water works were flowing in that OR. Getting to actually see from the outside what us mamas feel on the inside. 🫠🥹 Baby boy didn't even know he was born yet. Every birth is a testament to Gods goodness and the incredible strength of mamas and beauty of life. It was truly a Mother's Day I'll never forget! Doula Kahla 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻
Another amazing birth! So thankful to Dr. Adams for being so supportive of doulas in the OR and allowing me to capture sure a beautiful moment with the touch of her gentle hands.
Both boys are home with mommy and daddy, healthy and thriving! 💙💙
This belly birth with Dr. "A"mazing had something unique happen, and this Doula Nicole caught it on camera.
Another day, another beautiful HCA Florida Memorial delivery!

Heyyyy she’s says, I’m here! This little girl was clearly ready to meet the outside world.
A beautiful belly birth with Dr. A . The C section experience at Memorial hospital with Full Circle is very peaceful and calm. Delayed cord clamping, dim lights, music, essential oils on cotton balls if you want and provide them and skin to skin in the OR are standard with a healthy baby and mama. Sometimes things don’t go as planned and this makes it so much better.
and made sure to tag us in their public post and photos featuring this adorable little one. Everyone say, "Happy birthday" to Mason!!

Still completely OVER THE MOON about my first TWIN birth this past weekend. God is amazing and I am always so fascinated by pregnancy, labor and birth. This twin pregnancy and birth took my fascination to an entirely different level. So proud to introduce you to my very first set of Doula baby Twins, Jenna and Jayden. And let me tell you about their worrier of a mama...
She is strong,
Resilient,
Brave,
Patient,
Beautiful,
Powerful,
And the list goes on.
She was thrown so many curveballs at the very end of pregnancy and her birth plan derailed more times than we could have ever planned for but one thing is for sure, she never doubted herself. When the time came to make the decision after laboring for almost 2 full days to transition to a belly birth, she did so with grace, excitement and anticipation to finally meet the babies her and her husband had waited so long for. After a long fertility journey, they finally met their rainbow babies and it was a beautiful sight to witness. We couldn't have asked for a more peaceful belly birth. Under dim lights in the OR, Taylor Swift on the speakers and the entire team quietly encouraging mama who would soon meet her babies. Allowing skin to skin in the OR shortly after birth, such a special time, I will never forget. I was so fortunate to be a part of such a special birth for such a sweet family! These twins will have my heart forever! 💗💙
Special should out to Shushana McFarlane for tag teaming this birth with me and allowing me to rest in between while mama still had your unwavering support.
Also, thank you to for being so accommodating to this sweet family! It was wonderful to experience my first birth with Dr. Yeykal. She was a gem and made the experience that much sweeter! 💗💙
I'm not crying, you're crying!
Check out this public post in which .kaseyrogerson and tagged our practice. It's worth the read. Also, be sure to follow who captured this miraculous moment! HCA Florida Memorial Hospital

April is International Cesarean Awareness month. How fitting that I had my 3rd C-section this month.
This birth though was one of the most amazing and positive birth experiences I’ve had and for that I am so so thankful.❤️
Unlike the first two, this was a scheduled C-section. So already we knew it was going to be different, but we still weren’t sure what to expect since we had never experienced a scheduled C-section. My doctor and the hospital I delivered at offer what is called a “gentle C-section”, which is a way to make the delivery as “natural” or traditional as possible.
Now having it scheduled doesn’t make it not scary or at least for me it didn’t. But my birth team, Jonathan and my other support person(and photographer) Tyler Leavitt Powell made it less scary than my previous deliveries.
Some of the things that happened this time that we weren’t able to experience before are:
1. I could have another person in the OR other than Jonathan that could document it and also be another form of support. Tyler was amazing at getting every moment and also being there for me emotionally. Love her and love that she could be there for me.
2. Having a clear drape. I had a clear drape with Olivia but I was only able to see her briefly before they took her. But my doctor for Alina’s birth let me see her and touch her through the plastic, which was so special to me and made the experience so much better.
3. They let Jonathan cut the cord, which is something that he’s never done, so it made it very special for him to be able to do that.
4. Instead of doing all the measuring at the warmer they just weighed her and then brought her immediately over to me so I could do skin to skin.
5. I was able to do skin to skin for the duration of my surgery and was able to initiate breastfeeding while I was on the OR table.
. Shown here is Dr. A entering a labor and delivery room at
Memorial Hospital to deliver her 5th baby 👶🏻👶🏽👶🏿👶🏾👶🏼 of the day, and 9th for the weekend! Entering the world on Mother's Day may be a gift those little ones can never beat (but they'd better try -- 😂).
Dr. A is tired as a mother but her heart is full because she did some beautiful deliveries with some incredible families!
Happy Mother's Day!

"Another beautiful FCWC birth with one of the best. Inductions can be long, but with patience, focus, and the right providers, you can absolutely still achieve an unmedicated vaginal birth."
A gentle reminder. Happy Monday!
*Update: We are back to business as usual. Thanks for your patience!*
Mondays can be the worst. Our Internet is down which means our phones are, too (oh no)! If you have a medical emergency simply head to the hospital. If you have administrative matters, please use your Patient Portal -- but we won't have the ability to check until the connection is back. Remember, the patient portal is NOT got concerns such as high blood pressure, not feeling your baby moving, etc.
We will keep you posted!

Sulzbacher opened its doors in December of 1995 as the I.M. Sulzbacher Center for the homeless in response to the explosion of crisis homelessness that happened in the nineties both in Jacksonville and nationwide. The agency was founded by three groups, the City of Jacksonville, a group of area businesses, and the United Way of Northeast Florida. Unlike other homeless shelters, Sulzbacher was founded on the premise that homeless persons need and deserve more than just a meal and a bed to end their homelessness. Sulzbacher provides a continuum of care approach, addressing all aspects of homelessness including housing, income and health care. Over the more than two decades since the agency opened, the services have grown to include street outreach, primary health, behavioral health and dental care for all ages, permanent housing, job placement and early learning.
Dr. A shares updates on what she's been up to for Healthcare Disparities in Duval, Women's History Month, and Endometriosis Awareness Month. She failed to mention that she still leaves her home at 3 am to deliver squishy, beautiful babies, returns at 5 am and wakes up at 7 am to start the day! Patient care is still the first priority for her and her incredible team!
