1- I got a new lightener to try. DO NOT RECOMMEND
2- the lightener did not do what I needed it do, even when left on to lift for an substantial amount of time.
3- I literally had to go back and lighten again to get her hair where I needed it.

So always go with your gut + if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

I think Ms. Lori and I can agree that her hair has been just about every color, under the sun, within the last six months… and I don’t think we liked any of them. 🤣

Let’s just start from the beginning! When I first started doing her hair, she was about 50-75% gray. As time went on, she’s now 100% gray and that makes her maintenance almost impossible. After seeing me monthly for a retouch, she finally talked me into starting to go gray.

From the first “going gray” session to now, our vision has changed a little bit. But our end goal is still similar to what she wanted when we first started this journey.

So we gon’ embrace that warmth while we get this 2M out 🤪

ProTip- let the lightener do the work, thin sections, + SATURATE. + I started foiling with a board and the difference is 🤩 I feel like it does add some time to my service, but definitely worth it. It’s so much better than painting on my hand.

We are on a healthy hair journey.
About a year ago, she colored her hair red at home and when she was tired of that- she came back to me 🤣
She wanted looong extensions and she wanted to grow her natural hair back out.

Color wise, she knew she wanted to be warm, glowy, and natural. So picking the extension color that reflected that was important. Since her hair was pretty compromised and not in the best shape, we decided to let the extensions do all the work.
I added a lived in face frame and a blendy rooty smudge.

I felt like I needed to preface with that because I feel like that’s one reason why her hair looks so good. Guests who are naturally light will almost always be the blonde that everyone wants. Honestly, the undertones are already where you need them to be. There’s not a ton of warmth that has to be toned out and there’s not a whole bunch of levels to lift through.

Everyone can be blonde, but if you’re naturally light- you win. 😂
