🕶️ Above the surface people see “different” colored lenses, being worn by people, whether it’s light or dark outside, whether they’re indoors or outdoors.

🕶️ What they don’t see is how the glasses help them to see words, the world and all its beauty as it actually is (not even tinted by the colored lenses) with the help of custom colored filtered spectral filtered Irlen Lenses.

Let’s break the stigma and continue to spread the word on Irlen Syndrome that affects up to 15% of the general population.

LEGALLY BLIND EVEN WITH PRESCRIPTION LENSES, BUT PERFECT VISION WHEN WEARING IRLEN LENSES. How can this be? Irlen Syndrome is not an eyesight problem. In this particular instance, our client was legally blind, and wore corrective optometric lenses. Despite this, she was very competitive in the sport of archery and her parents wondered how these two things go together. When assessed at our clinic, she was found to have Irlen Syndrome and when provided with her specifically tinted Irlen lenses, she was able to read a wall-mounted eyechart more accurately and easily than she could when wearing her prescription lenses. Her parent was curious, so asked the optometrist to assess her eyesight again, this time, while wearing her Irlen lenses. The result was that while wearing her Irlen lenses, she was found to have perfect 6/6 eyesight, not requiring any prescription. This is because her poor eyesight was/is actually the result of her poor visual processing, which is NOT anything to do with how her eyes are working. So, if your child is struggling to read, despite having perfect eyesight, please get an Irlen assessment because they could be experiencing visual processing difficulties and the only people who can test for that is a certified Irlen Screener or Diagnostician. Did you know, in a recent study, about 50% of participants with both Irlen Syndrome and ADHD no longer met the criteria for an attention deficit diagnosis after they started wearing their Irlen Spectral Filters? Visual processing difficulties result in the symptoms of Irlen Syndrome, which include unexplained learning difficulties. The Irlen Spectral Filters correct these visual processing difficulties. The following information is from the abstract of a published article in the Current Opinion in Ophthalmology in 2012.
"Many children are seen by ophthalmologists because of scholastic difficulties in school initially attributed to eyesight when, in fact, the problem often is a result of a disorder of the brain processing vision. A number of neuropsychological conditions predisposing and affecting children with learning disorders will be described. Visual processing is the main brain function allowing normal perception of what is being viewed. Ophthalmologists as well as patients must realize that with normal 20/20 eyesight interpretation of what is seen may be dysfunctional because of faulty brain processing of that which is seen by normal eyes. Abnormal Visual Processing as well as auditory processing disorders eventually lead directly to learning disorders in children and young adults". Prescription lenses do not help with Visual Processing only with eyesight problems.

Irlen filters are specialized densities of color for each individual brain. Regular tinted glasses are not Irlen spectral filters.
