Tonight yogas contemplation: 🧘♂️ 🧘♀️✨️
There are times when change is thrust upon us, and there are times when we intentionally facilitate it. Either way, as Ekaterina Walter said, “It is in the midst of change we often find wings we never knew we had”.
Yoga teaches us to embrace the concept of aparigraha (non-attachment), which releases us from the chains of attachment. This release allows us to remain open to change within our bodies, minds, and spirits. We are granted the freedom we need to spread our wings and soar through life’s changes with ease and grace.
Join me for these last two Tuesday evenings at Rotary Botanical Gardens 530-630pm.
Remember, yoga is a gift. A gift to yourself of nourishing yourself, giving time and space for yourself, and being guided toward a deeper connection with your true essence.
“There are no shortcuts to any place worth going.” ~ Beverly Sills, Opera singer
It's not a trend but a timeless investment for yourself.
How will you care for yourself this Labor Day weekend?
We have made the decision to cancel yoga on Tuesday, August 27th, due to the extreme heat 🥵🔥☀️
Join next Tuesday 530-630pm.
The freedom to be yourself is a gift only you can give yourself. But once you do, no one can take it away.” – Doe Zantamata
Think about this for a minute… How free are you to be yourself, your true self? In everything you do and all your interactions with others, are you expressing yourself freely? If not, why?
It’s easy to blame others for your lack of freedom and I get it, societal norms can be a real bitch to break free from! But perhaps you hold yourself back more than anyone. Maybe it’s because you don’t believe you are enough or you don’t like who you are, so you believe others won’t like or accept you either. Maybe you are self-critical and fear the same harsh judgement from others. Or could it be that you just haven’t found the courage to share yourself. After all, it takes courage to be vulnerable and risk putting your true self out there. So instead, you put on a façade, dim your light and hold yourself back.
It's’s time to start being brave. To be courageous. To believe in yourself, own who you are, and trust that who you are is enough. It’s time to stop hiding and holding back. Instead it’s time to start sharing your gifts with the world. You don’t have to be a prisoner of fear or judgment. You just have to free yourself. Self-acceptance for where you are right now - is where it starts. From there, you can always grow.
Stepping back and remembering the new moon at the beginning of the month, set the tone, and the Leo new moon was all about finding radical self-love and confidence that comes from within. But loving yourself isn't easy. We're taught not to, and so we look outside of ourselves for love. But this new moon was asking us to set the intention to love all of ourselves, to release judgment, and now, at this full moon in Aquarius, it's about taking that to the next level.
It's about blending firery Leo with airy Aquarius, blending fire with vision, finding the courage to be yourself, and making up your life in any way you want.
Because Aquarius is all about being different. It's about embracing your individuality. So this energy will resonate with anybody who's ever felt alienated or like they don't fit in. Aquarians are the true visionaries. They’re a thousand steps, a million light years, ahead of the rest of us. That's sort of the theme of Aquarius.
But the thing is, the more you really own and embrace what makes you different, the more that actually becomes your greatest strength. Because what you think is alienating you or wounding you is actually what sets you apart, and that's where your power lies.
One quality that threads through all Aquarians, it is the ability to stand out. To be wildly unpredictable, unusual, and fascinating, whilst still remaining stoic, solid, and in a strange way, highly consistent. Being ruled by eclectic Uranus and structured Saturn creates what Aquarius is known for – their contradictory nature.
What rules are being broken for you during this full moon?
What’s coming undone?
More importantly, what is this creating space for?
What is demanding more freedom and more open-mindedness from us?
Embrace the discomfort that this full moon may dig up and show us old wounds and our unresolved issues. This is your opportunity to release where you are limiting yourself and give yourself the power to expand. Believe in the impossible, find that courage, and stand in your power.
I wish you an incredible full moon. Be kind and gentle to yourself. I hope it's full of motivation for new possibilities. And at the very least, there's something that's been revealed that's helping you to realign and recalibrate in whatever way is necessary.
Life is full of surprises!
There are things we can’t predict.
Events we don’t see coming.
Changes that happen in the blink of an eye.
It is through the experiences of our lives that we learn and integrate the lessons and accept the unexpected. Then, we can allow ourselves to flow with the changes by embracing each moment and every breath with gratitude and acceptance.
Embrace these moments with acceptance and gratitude .
What a welcome difference in temperature🌡

Contemplating advice from Dame Judi Dench. Her thoughts on aging are significant to our yoga practice and how our perspective and mind might transform with careful introspection.
“Don’t prioritize your looks, my friend , as they won’t last the journey.
Your sense of humor, though, will only get better with age.
Your intuition will grow and expand like a majestic cloak of wisdom.
Your ability to choose your battles will be fine-tuned to perfection.
Your capacity for stillness , for living
in the moment, will blossom.
Your desire to live each and every moment will transcend all other wants
Your instinct for knowing what (and who) is worth your time will grow and flourish like ivy on a castle wall……
….prioritize the uniqueness that makes you you, and the invisible magnet that draws in other like-minded souls to dance in your orbit…..”
Living mindfully, allow the wisdom that comes with each experience in your life, for these are the true gifts to be treasured.
My highest gratitude to this fine gathering of like-minded souls 🙏

The New Moon in passionate Leo on August 4th reminds us to come back to our hearts, to come back to our souls, to come back to our light.
The Leo lion loves to be the center of attention. They're bold, passionate, loyal, courageous, and protective. The natural born leaders, who often inspire others. ✨️ But they're also fiercely competitive.
Our task is to remember who we truly are. And then, to live and breathe that truth into the world - boldly and with great courage. There's nothing like the strength that lies in the heart of the Lion. Tuning into our own power and vitality will help us, the individual, find the spark within.
The Leo New Moon reminds that although we are Sovereign beings, we are also all divinely connected.
This is our time to explore our unique creative energy and then to channel it into something that gives us joy. Now is the moment to remind ourselves that we are simply little children playing in the sunshine and reclaim that innocence, that fun-loving nature that is our birthright.
The Leo ♌️ Moon is here to remind us of our power and strength. That we need to remember not to place our worth into others' hands. We need to stop comparing ourselves and measuring up to others' standards of who we are supposed to be. We need to stand in our own light and let it shine brightly. We need to remember to truly love ourselves with the same passion and vitality.
Then, from this place, we can manifest the life we desire for ourselves.
Can you embrace your most authentic self?
Can you stop giving your power away, placing others' opinions on how valuable you are?
Don't diminish yourself. Stand in your own light. Embrace your most authentic self ✨️💛
The Lions gate portal is August 8th (8/8/24), which aligns with the Sirus star. While our Sun is responsible for beaming down life for our physical bodies, Sirius is responsible for beaming down life for our spiritual bodies.
Between this Leo New Moon and the Lions Gate Portal, it is a great time for manifesting and setting intentions of the life you truly desire.
The mirror that you see, my dear, is a reflection,
and all reflections are distorted.
If you search for faults within yourself,
you will always find them,
but if you search for beauty,
you will always find it.
It all depends on what you search for,
and where you are looking.
May you always remember that there is beauty that lies in imperfection.”
These are just a few reasons to take care of yourself. There are only a few spots remaining in September, schedule 📅 today!

Tonight's contemplation:
Power! What does this word evoke for you? Strength? Control? Wealth? Knowledge? It's a potent word indeed. What if we attach the word to our inner world. Personal power. The ability to be in sync with our energy, spirit, emotions. In sanskrit, Power is Shakti. Shakti has five faces: power to be conscious, the power to feel bliss, the power of will, the power to know, and the power to act.
Our Virabhadrasana (Warrior) poses invoke power and strength into the body, creating a safe space to be in alignment with our soft and sacred spirits.
When we open our hearts and minds, we find our true power. It is the ability to find our inner strength and resilience, to release resistance, to know when to rest and when to move, to face both our shadows and our bliss with compassion and understanding. Personal Power is to recognize what brings you peace and invite it in.
Join me this evening Rotary Botanical Gardens Tuesday 530-630pm.
Thank you for bringing me here…
…to this breath
…to this place
…to this moment
…to this experience
…to this peace, to the love I feel, to my awareness, to the lessons, and to my discovery.
Appreciation is not saved for only the joyful and satisfying moments. Expressing gratitude for what is “right” in our world is easy. It’s the experiences that are dark, or challenging or difficult that we learn from. By confronting situations we want to avoid or hide from or fear, we inspire growth, and shape our character.
These simple words of gratitude can be expressed, in all situations:
“Thank you for bringing me here”
can be expressed each day, under all circumstances, and as often as we remember to say it.”
What do you have to be grateful for?
Which direction are you keeping your focus?
Are you pining for your past
(living in the so-called “glory days”)?
Dreaming of, waiting for the future
(“I’ll be happy when...)?
Or are you living in the present?
Cherish your memories, set your goals and aspirations, but LIVE your life in the present.
One of the best ways to stay in the present is, as Rumi says, “Where ever you are, be the soul of that place.” Pour yourself, body, mind, and spirit into the moment."
The day is today.
The moment is now.
Be Here Now.
This a reminder to remember to care for you ✨️
How will you care for yourself this weekend?
Sometimes life gets really complicated and chaotic. You feel as if you’re being pulled in myriad directions and spinning out of control.
And then you make the time to come to a relaxing healing massage session, and you let your body, mind, and soul come back to the simple and serene. It feels like recharging your battery, reconnecting to the present moment, breathing slowly and deeply, noticing the little things your body and spirit have been trying to let you know.
The mighty oak tree reminds us of our inner strength and integrity as we reconnect with our divine nature. This is a time to revisit our roots so we can heal old wounds and stand strong in our truth.
The spirit of oak is held deep within our collective memory. It asks us to listen to the sound of the wind so we can hear the voice of the divine within us and around us. By connecting with the energy of words, we can listen with an open heart. Oak signals a time of stepping into our divine nature and peaceful power with honesty and integrity. By owning our truth and our voice, we will gain a clearer sense of what we need to accomplish and how. By choosing our words wisely, we will be able to stand strong yet remain open, even in the face of adversity.
Tonights yoga contemplation.................
Your body is a temple.” True. It is sacred space that we honor and care for to the best of our ability. But we might also imagine our bodies as a forest.
A forest thrives and grows with all of its components working together to create a healthy and safe environment. But a forest, like our bodies changes over time. The challenging effects of weather, disease and fire can devastate a forest. But all it takes is one seed, one sapling, one root in a forest, and it will adapt and grow, and flourish.
As humans, we also experience difficulty, loss and sometimes total devastation. But we too carry within us a seed of renewal. A root of hope.
In our yoga practice we learn to recognize the Tapas, or “heat” of difficulties and challenges. And through our yogic abilities, we rise from what we may view as devastation to discover our vibrant seed of rebirth.
Yoga 🧘♂️🧘♀️ is on Rotary Botanical Gardens

This full moon in Capricorn brings us an opportunity to find calm within the storm. We’re challenged to stay open-minded even when we’re feeling big things, and investigate the way our relationships cultivate independence, dependence or both.
With the sun in Cancer and the moon in Capricorn represent two ways of caring for someone.
Cancer cares by meeting your immediate needs, nurturing and soothing — encouraging dependence. Capricorn cares by teaching you how to meet your own needs — encouraging independence.
This full moon is also occurring at 29 degrees, which is a critical degree in astrology. A occurrence, which suggests that the final degree is a “degree of fate”. The 29 degree marks the true end of an era, so its energy may feel like running the last mile in a marathon. You know there’s an end in sight, but it will take all of your strength to complete the cycle. There will be an overwhelming sense of urgency to complete, do, or act on something during this lunation.
This full moon represents the completion of a chapter of our maturation journey and, because of the tight connection between the Moon and Pluto, is likely to reveal to us something about ourselves we were unaware of, that is likely to be uncomfortable to see. This event offers us chances to access a deeper understanding of the purpose of what happened in the past weeks and months and encourages us to make changes that were long overdue.
For some of us, this Capricorn Full Moon could bring a painful but needed reality check. If this is the case, we have to make sure we are taking time to feel our pain, taking time to grieve our losses, even when we are only losing a fantasy we have projected meaning upon.
What decisions and changes need to be made now?
How can we find a security that works for us, both in our personal lives and in our worldly environment?
How can we get our emotional needs met while still honoring the responsibilities and duties?
Contemplation for tonights yoga class at Rotary Botanical Gardens.
Have you ever……said, ‘never’?
Of course, we all have. And we boldly stand behind our “never” statement based on what? Fear? Perception? A past experience?
I'll NEVER be strong enough.
I'll NEVER get that raise.
I'll NEVER fall in love again.
I'll NEVER ............................
Now, pause for a moment to contemplate the limitations of Never. The restrictions it places on our lives. The judgments it exposes. The limiting beliefs it subscribes to.
Melody Beattie says this,
“Learn from the past. Trust yourself. Trust your experiences, even the ones that haven’t worked for you. But please don’t say never. Stay open to all the universe holds.”
Our lifes practice is to find opportunities to learn the freedom of staying open. When we move our bodies, expand our breath, and open our hearts and minds. We can then invite a stillness into our minds and remain open to the possibilities our lives present to us. Boot the word “never” out of your mind and out of your sacred space, if only for the moment.

“Stand tall in front of the unknown and instead of trying to analyze it, embrace it. Jump head on, into the abyss. Let the Universe catch you and take you where you’re meant to go.” (Esther T.)
The Art of true surrendering is not an easy task and it takes remarkable courage of the heart. – to surrender what we know, even if what we know is causing us pain, even if that suffering at least gives us some sense of control and security. As opposed to diving headfirst into the complete unknown, consciously leaving behind that false sense of security, in service of what is authentic and true. That requires great bravery.
The ideas of what is the ‘right’ way and the ‘wrong’ way for you to live your life. The options you feel you have, and choices you feel you should be making, in order to ‘be loved’ or ‘acceptable’. Every single view you have about who you are – who you are meant to be, how you are meant to live your life, what is required of you in order to be loved or unloved or worthwhile or not – has been given to you by someone else, and was given to them by someone else, and to those before them by someone else. And if every single view is simply programming, but nothing is original nor authentic, then what is true and what isn’t?
In this moment I’d like to invite you to ask yourself the following question and, as you do so, take a moment to be still and to reflect on what this question offers: what do you actually know for certain?
My healing hands feel the entire nature of your being. The power of touch that breaks into the words that your mind does not speak aloud. A gift given from my heart to my hands to nurture, soothe, release the tension you carry in your body. Releasing the emotional burdens and the weight of the world that you bear upon your shoulders.
My hands are my gift to an intuitive unraveling to help heal and nurture your soul. The power of my massages isn't just a massage it's my gift to you.
One hand holds the gift of wisdom and the other the gift of faith. The highest power can come through our minds to our hearts to our hands spilling to those we touch with a sacred healing prayer.
“All things come from small beginnings. The seed of every habit is a single, tiny decision. But as that decision is repeated, a habit sprouts and grows stronger. Roots entrench themselves, and branches grow….. the task of building a good habit is like cultivating a delicate flower one day at a time.”
~James Clear
When we think of creating new habits or changing our behavior, we generally consider our diet and exercise habits first. But what about our tendencies to be kind, patient, compassionate, or accepting, especially towards ourselves?
Today, imagine just one small shift in our own behavior as the seed of change. How we feel, how we think, and how we act are the result of our daily habits.
Today let’s practice the kindness and the acceptance for ourselves, and with that acceptance towards ourselves, we can use it to be the change we want to see in the world 🙏
