I lost a very dear friend last weekend. My buddy Glenn Lea passed away and it saddens me because he was such a loyal and special companion. Susan and I always looked forward to and enjoyed our time with Glenn and his lovely wife El. The UAW local 95 held a celebration for Glenn and his associate Pat McGuire about a year ago to showcase the accomplishments of these 2 special individuals. I already miss Glenn. He certainly was an inspiration for myself and many others. So long my friend until we meet again!. My prayers and sympathies to El and the rest of his family.
We are sad to hear that Glenn Lea has passed away. He was a man filled with compassion and humility. Blackhawk Community Credit Union wouldn’t be the financial institution it is today without men like Glenn and Pat McGuire. We will miss Glenn and his words of wisdom that we all learned from Glenn about helping others.
May God bless and rest in peace Glenn!!

In commemoration of the 23rd anniversary of September 11,, we reflect on the commendable efforts of the employees from the Janesville General Motors assembly plant and the United Auto Workers Local 95, who contributed to the construction of vehicles for the heroes of New York. During a ceremony held at the Janesville GM plant in 2001, firefighters from Janesville and Beloit, along with GM officials, honored the flag while the National Anthem was played.
The employees of General Motors generously donated trucks to New York City, with the image capturing the moment when Janesville and Beloit firefighters, officials, and union representatives gathered at the plant. GM workers paid homage to the American flag during the national anthem, commemorating the four vehicles designated for the New York Fire Department. Each vehicle bore hand-written notes of gratitude and encouragement inscribed on their engine compartments, representing Janesville's pride as they prepared to send these vehicles to New York City to replace those lost in the September 11 attacks. In the days leading up to this event, local General Motors employees dedicated their time to assemble three full-size sport-utility vehicles and one medium-duty truck for the New York City Fire Department.
On Tuesday, these vehicles were ceremoniously presented to personnel from the Janesville Fire Department, accompanied by a flag-waving send-off supported by members of the UW Band. As part of a larger initiative, GM is contributing a total of 61 trucks to the New York City Fire Department. Terry Meyer, the union’s shop committee chairman at GM, noted that members of United Auto Workers Local 95 unanimously agreed last month to volunteer their time and labor for the construction of the four vehicles in Janesville. The GM workers who participated in this effort inscribed messages and signed their names within the engine compartments. "This is a modest gesture of our gratitude for the invaluable service that New York firefighters provide, which instills pride in all Americans," stated Meyer. Mike Glinski, the acting plant manager, expressed the Janesville plant's pride in extending support to the firefighters of New York City.

From Mike's daughters FB post...Last night, my dad’s nurse said she’s worked on the cardiac floor for 9 years and she’s never seen a patient as dedicated to recovering and as hard working as my Dad. 😭❤️🩹 She said he remains positive, nice and friendly after everything he’s been through, and most patients wouldn’t be by this point. She said he does everything they ask him to and more! 💪 Sometimes when you’re feeling down all you need is someone’s kinds words like this to lift you back up. I’m so happy everyone sees the reason our dad is so special. Let’s send him some positivity and motivation today! Good days only ahead 🙏❤️
Go Mike❣️😍❣️
