Hi all! If you don’t know me already, but I think it was about time to show my face! I’m MacKenzie, owner of Moonlight Stidio Salon. 🌙 🤍

Firstly, I’m still processing that it’s been a month already since I’ve started my own business…. My own… business…?! It’s insane to even think that’s a sentence that I can type out? 6 years has flown by and I’ve gone down so many different paths. At the beginning of my career, I was a silly 21 year old just trying to navigate through this insane industry and mature. Through the years I’ve tried to find myself and figure out the type of person I want to be not only for myself but my clients… and to be honest I’m still figuring that out. But what I do know is that I care more than any of my clients, family, and friends will ever know to have your support. 🤍

If I’m being honest, I’ve wanted to give up on this industry many times. It’s hard not to compare yourself to others or to be overly critical of your work. Knowing and understanding how much pride people have about their hair… Trying to work in environments that are extremely toxic to my mental health. The competition over numbers and sales… and searching for validation of my bosses and management. Well, I am finally at the point where the only person’s validation I’m looking for is my own. I want to make people look and feel their best, and know that they can be themselves around me with zero judgement. If I can be a part of just a small window of happiness in someone’s life, then I think I’m doing okay. ✨

I’m so excited to see all of my visions come true, and to build a brand that’s open for everyone to have a seat in my chair and enjoy themselves. No matter what. 🤍🌈☀️
