Good morning from Fiona and Chief!

We have a sweet 3 year old male in Cutler Bay, FL needing a home. Owner is losing home and can't find anyone that will allow Konka to move with them into a new home.

Pumba is letting his guard down a bit more.

Pumba has come a long way in a week. So proud of him even giving humans a chance to be good to him.

Getting calmer ..

I intended to have his condo in before he arrived, but he had to depart Miami-Dade asap. Chris and Andrew returned at 3 am and I left by 4 to meet transport angels 8 hours away. They covered 5500 miles delivering Filas to their new families in IA, MN, and WA state. To say we had a busy week is an understatement. We are all exhausted but feeling pretty accomplished, lol. We are happy to help Pumba with the time and patience he needs. I'm really glad I didn't have to bring him inside for his quarantine. He couldn't have had any fresh air or sunshine for 2 weeks. No way he can walk up and down the hall for outdoor exercise and potty breaks with that uri. I made that mistake in the past and it cost us well over a grand in medical treatments and most importantly, a life. Little Pumba is really enjoying being outdoors. Being on a dead-end road with no traffic, it's so quiet. I can see him listening to the birds and the leaves rustling in the breeze. I'll be posting another video later today as this is yesterdays. (Thought I shared it.) Thanks to everyone following Pumba, and please pm me if you'd like to consider adding him to your family!

Progress

For the comment regarding Pumba being outside ... he HAS a spot inside, but he's absolutely still a bite risk. If he comes inside like he is, he will be imprisoned in a room in a house again. He has 2 weeks quarentine as he is positive for a very contagious uri. I struggled with do I isolate him in a room inside, or give him a tub he can LITERALLY immerse himself in if he gets hot? I thought for his mental and emotional health the latter would be the better choice. I'm sure some will disagree. His kennel is not in direct sunlight at any part of the day, and temps are expected to be high 80s for the next several days. I have a responsibility to keep my 13 safe as well as Pumba. Please bear with me while I work on getting this baby to trust me enough to be able to be let out to potty. THEN he can continue his quarantine inside. I check on him MANY times a day. Once he stops reacting so badly to my attempts to open the kennel gate, he has a 40x80 pen he can have access to.

Another scorcher today means indoor play for exercise.
