IS THIS NOT THE CUTEST DOG EVER? Meet Penny, a Big Canoe Animal Rescue dog, who is currently attending a Luvk9s basic obedience class as our special guest! She is learning how to "sit". "down". "watch me", "drop it/leave it" and "stay." We will start on leash walking next week. We think Penny is about 1 1/2 years old and weighs about 53 lbs. DNA test is pending. She was found as a stray with her sibling. She is very gentle and sweet. Contact Big Canoe Animal Rescue if you might be interested in meeting her. 706-268-1346.

Luvk9s will be starting up group classes this weekend. We'll be offering two basic classes on Friday (9 and 11 AM), Tricks class on Friday at 3 PM, Puppy class on Saturday at 11 AM and CGC/CGCA classes (basic level II and III) on Saturday at 1 PM. Congratulations are in order to the latest Luvk9s puppy class graduates! Puppy class is six weeks long; we follow the recommended puppy curriculum that the AKC suggests - their STAR PUPPY program. The dogs did great and a good time was had by all!

More congratulations are in order! Four Luvk9s students took and passed the CGCA test. CGCA is the advanced Canine Good Citizen certification. The group photo was taken at Sacketts in Jasper where we ran a successful run thru the prior week. We also did an outing to Home Depot and worked in downtown Ball Ground and at Ball Ground Hounds. Such a fun group of folks! Enjoyed working with all of you!

Congrats to the most recent CGC (Canine Good Citizen) graduates! Brylee, Jasmine and Lucy worked hard (as did their owners) to successfully execute the ten required tasks to earn this certification. You all did a great job!!!!

Today is Edgar's 1st birthday! (Edgar is a Luvk9s student who has attended puppy class and just finished a tricks class.) Those are his proud parents sitting next to him 😊 Happy birthday, Edgar!

PUPPIES! Who doesn't love puppies 😊? Annie, Dixie, Lexi, Max, Nike and Rocco all attended our March/April class. A good time was had by all! Congrats to all the attendees!

I just LOVE tricks class! Abby, the poodle, earned her NOVICE and INTERMEDIATE Trick Dog Title. Royal (the older Vizsla), Edgar (the pug) and Maye (Lab mix, a BCAR - Big Canoe Animal Rescue - dog who is incidentally available for adoption) earned their NOVICE Trick Dog Titles. And Tailwind, the younger Vizsla, earned her INTERMEDIATE and ADVANCED Trick Dog Title. If you want to do something fun with your dog, Tricks Class is for you! It's a fun sport and a great way to continue building that bond with your dog! And age makes no difference - Royal is 10 years old and loved class.

Congrats to the latest group of puppies to attend and complete the AKC STAR PUPPY program class! Gracie is the French bulldog. Fripp is the springer spaniel. Palmer is the golden retriever and Logan is the Australian shepherd. In addition to learning lots of fun cues, the pups also loved playing and socializing with each other. A good time was had by all.

We'll be starting another round of puppy classes March 1 and 2. If you've got a new puppy, this is the perfect class for you!

Luvk9s just finished up a beginner tricks class! A great time was had by all! Paddy, the English Springer Spaniel, Tailwind, the Vizsla, Jasmine the Boston Terrier, Coco the Chihuahua and Delilah the Cavachon all earned their AKC Novice trick title! Andy, the Corgi has his beginner and intermediate title and is working towards his advanced title.

Interested in doing a fun sport with your dog? Luvk9s will be offering tricks classes starting Friday, March 1 at 3:30 PM at Ball Ground Hounds. We'll work on tricks like High-5, jump thru a hoop, run thru a tunnel, kiss, shake, push-ups, spin, crawl and a LOT more!
