It was great to once again be a sponsor at the Jenkintown Festival of the Arts. It was a great day and we raised over $1000 for Alex’s Lemonade Foundation. All proceeds go to childhood cancer research.

Today we travelled to Rehoboth Beach Delaware for an interclub with the Coastal Delaware Kiwanis Club. It was a great time, fantastic program and wonderful to share our projects and fundraisers and learn about theirs. Thank you Russ and Steve for the invite and a wonderful time.

Last week we held our meeting at Posh & Bloom. Got to learn all about them and we got to celebrate Darlene’s upcoming wedding in style. Best of luck to you both.

We had Jenkintown Police Chief Tom Scott at our meeting this week. He updated us on policing in the boro and thanked us for donating funds to help the department buy new UHF radios as well as hosting and organizing a fantastic Sunset 5K Run.

We had the pleasure of hosting Toni Castillo, Ed.D. Campus Director of the Jersey College of Nursing. It was great to learn about the college and their program.

Racing will start at 6:35PM with the free kids dash for those 6 years old and under. Then at 7PM the main race will begin. Join us at the town square to cheer them on, or if you live or work along the course cheer them on as they run by, as I am sure you will see plenty of your neighbors/customers running. Let's show everyone what makes Jenkintown so special. Live music will be provided by Jenkintown's very own Acoustic Keys featuring Lisa Rountree Ridenour and Joe Mahoney at the gazebo from 6-8PM, as well as post race refreshments.There will be, well over 1000 people in the town square this evening so be prepared. Hopefully, most will stay in town and eat and drink in all of our restaurants and bars.
Please be aware that there will be 600-700 runners on the roads that evening, so please be careful if driving at that time. Anticipate delays, so please be patient. Also, please be aware that certain roads will be closed to all traffic throughout the borough and around Town Square tonight starting at 5:00PM to ensure the safety of the runners.There will no parking on Leedom St from West Ave to Summit as well as a portion of the town square parking lot.The runners should be off the roads by 8PM, and the roads will be re-opened to all traffic.

We are so happy to have Chuck Zerambo and Sir Charles Distinctive Entertainment &DJ Sevices with us again this year. Chuck will be rocking out at the starting line and you must stop by the free Photo Booth pre or post race to get your pictures taken. Bring the whole race crew!

Yesterday the Kiwanis Club members folded 700 t-shirts and prepared 539 race packets for our 32nd Annual Jenkintown Sunset 5k Run. Join us on Tuesday June 4th @ 7PM and cheer the runners on.
