IPE vs Trex

Some will say that composite materials are cheaper than exotic hardwoods such as Ipe, Garapa, Sirari, Curupay or Cumaru. This is not true as Ipe decking costs less than most composites, and just a little more than the high-end composite options. The other species outside of Ipe all cost less than any composite alternative.

Ipe wood lasts longer, doesn’t get as hot to the touch in the sun, is biodegradable, has A-1 fire rating, is rot-resistant, stronger, more stable (keeps its shape), and costs less when you factor in the durability factor.

Q: What’s the price of Deck Tiles and Porcelain Pavers?

A: Please contact our sales team as there are many factors to consider before giving our best pricing to you.

Q: Does IPE require any maintenance?

A: If the chocolate brown is to be maintained, apply oil with UV protection once or twice a year depending on the harshness of the environment. This additional hydration will also extend the already very long lifespan of IPE from 40 years into the 50-60 year range.

Q: Do IPE Tiles come pre-oiled?

A: Interlocking Deck Tiles do come pre-oiled since they are a DIY product, Structural Tiles however come raw (and they look noticeably lighter). Due to the additional manipulation they undergo during professional installation, it is common practice to do a light sanding to get rid of any dust or stains after the Tiles are put in place. At that point they’re ready for their first on-site application of oil with UV protection.

Q: Do you supply Supports or Fasteners?

A: Yes. Our tiles come prepared to fit any system on the market, but we strongly recommend and work closely with MRP Supports. They provide exceptional customer service and supply a great quality product.

Q: Are there any discounts available?

A: Once we understand the size of a project and the distance to our closest warehouse, we can calculate discounts and even free shipping in some cases. Since we are the factory, there is always a little wiggle room!

Q: What’s the shipping cost?

A: The per-unit shipping cost varies with each order depending on the desired quantity as fewer tiles are more expensive to ship than bigger quantities. We will provide a quote once we understand how many tiles will be needed, or at least have an approximate idea.

Q: Are there any restocking fees?

A: There are no restocking fees and we would take care of the return shipping cost, assuming there was a quality issue that could be agreed upon by exchanging photos of the faulty material. If any tiles arrive damaged, we will cover the cost of replacing those tiles including shipping. If an issue only affected individual slats spread out in different tiles, we may offer enough substitute tiles to replace the affected slats, only once a workable agreement has been approved by the buyer.

A short history of how we got our start in the industry

MaderPark Bolivia + TilEZ History:

Grandfather Jesús Palmí Tortosa emigrated from Valencia (Spain) to Rosario (Argentina) in 1918 due to the famine and Spanish Flu that were ravaging the country at the time. He worked as a foreman in a cow ranch for 5 years in the province of Santa Fe, despite severe allergies caused by the high humidity present. The doctors warned him that his health would worsen gradually, and advised him to move to a drier location since there wasn’t a proper treatment available. He moved back to Valencia, bringing back a sack of gold coins he had been saving in Argentina. He fell in love and married upon his return, and decided to invest his savings into building the first wood mill in the region of Valencia.

Ramón, Jesús and Manuel, his three sons, would work with him and helped him grow the business. After the mill, two factories were created in Gandía and Lérida which were mainly dedicated to the manufacturing of pine boxes and crates for the export of fruits to other regions. Uncle Manuel Palmí was in charge of the Gandía factory, and his three sons inherited the knowledge and passion for the wood industry. After working with their father for 10 years, the two oldest brothers Manuel and Juan established Maderpark2000 in 1998. The company was dedicated to import and distribution of local and international timber products, specializing in hardwood flooring and decking tiles. In 2005 they founded MaderPark Bolivia with 115 employees. They began production, milling, drying and exporting of exotic woods, with the firm intention of offering a competitive product with the highest standard of quality. After selling many thousand deck tiles through wholesale distribution worldwide, Exotic TilEZ is the US division that can finally offer our products directly to the final customer regardless of quantity.
