Chatterbugs will be back, but for now we’re open all week! See you soon!
Hi friends! I’m going to go ahead and post the schedule for next week.
You guys have been incredibly generous in your giving this past week. You have donated over $2500 dollars and massive amounts of baby care items to the victims of Hurricane Helene. We’ve run your items to donation sites, to strangers who have become friends, and by foot into some of the most remote communities. Thank you guys for your generosity- it has been inspiring and humbling. Thanks to my mom, sisters, brother, and husband for being the runners! There are still many, many needs, and there will be for a long, long time. It will take all of us continuing to work together to get East TN and Western NC back on its feet.
We will continue taking donations via Venmo and/or at Little Social through next week.
I also wanted to mention that next week is our last Chatterbugs playgroup for the current session. There are a few spots open - and it’s gonna be a good one! We will start the next session at the end of October, when we plan to offer sessions for two different age groups. More on that to come!
As always, thank you guys for your support of Little Social and all that we stand for. We are more proud than ever to live in East TN. We love you guys and your littles :)
Happy Playing
For the little ones🩷
Natural disasters are scary for everyone. Sometimes, children forget how to feel safe. For all children, especially those with disabilities, social stories can help.
Weekly Schedule! This week and next week, bring baby item(s) for donation and play for free. See previous post for item list.
We are holding our region close in thought and prayer as so many families have been affected and displaced by hurricane Helene.
Now is the time for the rest of us to get to work and do what we can to support our Appalachian family. Our region has a long road of recovery ahead. I will continue to post donation and work opportunities as I see them, and please feel free to share any that you see with me so I can post them!
Only together can we recover🩷

Weekly Schedule! And a HUGE thank you to everyone who came out to our backyard party this weekend! And thanks to , and .by.cookiecrate for making the afternoon extra special 🎨🎈🍦It filled our hearts to see you guys and your little ones engaging in our outdoor space. The Backyard is now officially open! The fences will stay closed and locked for safety but feel free to use the backdoor (through the kitchen) to access The Backyard when you come play 😊 and If you see random corn kernels in the house, you know where they came from 😂
See y’all soon- and happy playing!
We’re teaming up with our neighbors at Shakti in the Mountains to host Spectrum Connection: A Support Group for Caregivers with Neurodivergent Children. The meetings take place monthly at Shakti, with free childcare being offered right across the street at Little Social. Each month, a local professional who specializes in the care of neurodivergent children will attend the meeting to share their expertise and resources. Each meeting also provides time to ask questions and receive support from other parents. While the support group and childcare are free, registration is required. The group meets tonight at Shakti from 6-7 pm and again Thursday, October 10th. Send us a DM for the registration link!
Hi friends!! We’re open Thursday (9/12) from 11:30-1:30 and Friday (9/13) from 9:30-1:30. Then it’s Backyard Party Day!! Come celebrate the opening of our backyard space 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 try .by.cookiecrate , get your face painted by , and get a fun balloon by ! See you there!
Spectrum Connection: A Support Group for Caregivers with Neurodivergent Children
Shakti in the Mountains and Little Social
Thursday, September 12, from 6 to 7 pm. Free.
If you are looking for a safe space to ask questions, receive encouragement, and share resources as you figure out the best ways to support your neurodivergent child, then please consider attending Spectrum Connection, a support group for caregivers.
During this hour-long support group, caregivers will have an opportunity to:
Hear from a professional who works with neurodivergent individuals or to hear from each other and neurodivergent adults.
Ask questions
Share resources
Seek connection and understanding
Spectrum Connection is co-sponsored by Shakti in the Mountains and Little Social. Abbi Leitnaker, a speech-language pathologist and the owner of Little Social, is offering free childcare services for the children of the caregivers who wish to attend the support group. (When you register, the childcare details and a link to register are provided.) Kim Bushore-Maki will host the support group. Since these businesses are located directly across the street, caregivers and children will not be far away from each other.
For the September meeting, there will not be a specific professional speaking, rather Kim will facilitate a conversation catered to the needs of the people who show up. Registration is required. Click below to register:
