Hi there! We are Ruben and Jessica Rodriguez . Born and raised in Mexico we learned that the heart of every family is around the table eating a delicious meal prepared by grandma or drinking coffee with pan dulce and talking for hours. Even tough we come from different states of Mexico (Michoacán & San Luis Potosi) both our families have work on the food industry for as long as we can remember. We not only learned to cook and handle food at a very early age but also inherited the taste of the authentic Mexican cuisine. We own big part of our success to the unconditional support both our families have given us, we are very proud of our roots and culture, and love to offer a piece of that to the Joliet community.

Sunshine Mexican Café opened its doors as a restaurant on August of 2019, but we have offered our catering services to the Joliet-Chicago area for over 10 years with our corporation name Party Time RJ.

Dine-in menu consists of homestyle and street food breakfast and lunch items and our Salsa bar with over 10 seasonal and basic salsas to try every visit. Sunshine’s Catering menu is a line up of the most authentic Mexican stews like Mole, Costillas en salsa, Pollo en adobo and many many more!

We love being part of this community and having the opportunity to help, with our services, helping to spread information about important matters and inspiring our latin community so they might know that we all have great chances to succeed in this country.
