He is not just a cornerstone of the Atlanta music scene; he is a true icon in the world of radio. From his early days at 99X, where he introduced us to new bands, to his show “The House of Retro Pleasure,” where he unearthed forgotten hits, Steve has consistently enriched our musical landscape.

We recently had the honor of welcoming Steve to our studio for a conversation about the exciting future of the revitalized 99X. Sharing stories, a few laughs, and reminiscing about familiar names from the past was a heartfelt experience for all of us. It’s always a pleasure to have the amazing Daniel de los Reyes (of Zac Brown Band) join us in the studio. Today he was putting down a some stanky percussion rhythms that would make dirty gym socks smell like a spring breeze! And speaking of socks, this new single featuring Lee Oskar (formerly of WAR) on harmonica is gonna knock them right off!

It was a creative couple of days with the Turpin brothers writing their new album in the studio this week. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree with these guys. Get ready for some amazing songs!

Well, when have we had the incredible Shawn Grove doing his magic in the A room, bending waves into submission with a twist of the k**b, and our multi-talented friend Marshall Coates casting spells with his guitar in the B room… Yes, I would say that it was indeed a great day at Real to Reel.
