It’s been my automated response for awhile now but there’s been an influx of order requests so I suppose it’s time to put it out there in an official post. I will NOT be accepting any custom orders of any kind after October. In the meantime I’ve also cut back on the number of orders I’ve been taking and limiting it to *returning customers only*. And when I say limiting, I truly mean it please don’t take it personally if I turn you away. It’s not been an easy decision but it is time to put family first and be able to dedicate the time to them that they deserve. At this time I do not plan on selling any of my equipment, so I may pick back up at some point but it will not be anytime in the foreseeable future. As harsh as this may come across it also needs to be said, PLEASE do not try and go through someone else to get on the schedule. It won’t end well for either party in the future
It’s been an honor and joy to be included and trusted to bake for so many of you over the years and some household for multiple kids. It’s not lost on me how awesome it is to have people that continuously kept coming back! I’ll still be around, say hi! We’re not going anywhere. And you may still see Simply Sugar pop up from time to time in school functions and such in some form or another. But again, no orders of any kind even as special favors after October.

Friends, I will *NOT* have back to school cookies this year. I’ve seen a couple posts asking for bakers who will be providing them and wanted to put it out to the universe in case you were waiting on me. But also, how is it already time to get back into a routine and get ready for school?! I personally am not ready and I know at least one of my kids is dreading it 😫😫

No celebratory cookies were made this year because we can’t seem to kick this dang summer cold at our house, but doesn’t mean we can’t still post past creations!

This a friendly reminder, unlike a game of paintball, that I am booked for custom orders until the week of 8/19! I if I can find the time from mom duties I may have a small flash sale for 4th of July and possibly back to school cookies in August. If you have an order in July, I will work on getting those all finalized by this time next week 💜💙 thank you all for your patience!

Are you mentally here already? I am and it’s fine. And here comes the BUTTTT, friends I LOVE that some of you are planners and I’ve already told 3-4 of your yes for orders in November and December but I will be holding off on agreeing to future orders until we get closer to those months to see how everything is going at the time. The burn out last year was real and my family deserves better than the minimal effort I scrapped together. That’s just the cold hard truth that most makers and bakers don’t like to share with people.

Much like these cookies, this summer is going to be a wild one! We’re only two weeks in and already have one down with some kind of illness (super grateful for great customers who are willing to work with me to allow me to be mom first 🫶🏻) but also keeping a very active 7 yr old occupied and hearing “I’m bored” 7 million times a day. May the odds be ever in our favor 🤣🤞🏻🤞🏻

Adjusting to both kids home all day while still managing like second busiest month of the year has been a lot 🥴 one more super busy week coming up and things can slow down for summer 🙌🏻 also look at the puffy letters 🩷🩷🩷

Looking ahead there are still a couple openings for the last two weeks in June. July is COMPLETELY BOOKED for custom orders, I’m going to try and do a very small 4th of July pre sale or flash sale! The first two full weeks of August are not open for custom orders as we prepare for going back to school. I do still have ONE spot left for pick up 8/2 depending on the size and details. Depending on how life is going, I do plan on having a back to school presale for pick up sometime the week of 8/5.

Tomorrow is the day, it’s finally here 🙌🏻🫶🏻🙌🏻🫶🏻 if you have an order penciled in for the summer months please get your themes and quantities to me ASAP if you have not already. Summer means a lot more time spent away from my desk and computer while focusing on my kids and enjoying moments with them. That being said there are still a couple spots for June and July. I will NOT be taking any custom orders the first two weeks of August at least (there are two already on the calendar and you’re still good 😉). I may have back to school cookies, that will be determined closer to that time and the first week of school is going to be a major adjustment in our house. So if you need cookies those weeks I’d suggest snagging a July spot and freezing them until needed.

Also any messages that come in from now until Thursday will have a very delayed response time as I buckle down and get these done along with mom and house duties. Now that the business side is out of the way, I need to step on a soap box for a moment and plead with you all to share with your friends to research and ask questions when looking for bakers! Please look at their social media or website to see the quality of their work. With the uptick in people entering this world of decorated cookies, I’ve personally seen a lot of people using other bakers photos to advertise for presales which isn’t fair to the consumer. Using my own pictures as examples, I’ve seen bakers out there advertising sets with A LOT of floral work that’s “perfect” when in reality what they’re likely going to walk way with is something much less. Now hear me out, THERE IS NOTHING WRONG with the last two pictures, I had just started! But that’s what these bakers should be advertising. Not the “perfectly” polished floral cookies that took years to figure out. And trust when I say, I am so far from perfect in this cookie decorating world. 7 years of experience under my belt has helped me improve significantly though. So again, please just research and ask your bakers if they have examples of what they’re offering. No baker should feel bad about you asking for pictures of their work if they truly did it themselves. Our customers pay a lot for these baked treats and you deserve nothing less than what was advertised that you’re paying for! 🫶🏻🫶🏻
